I got this for my twin 10 month olds. When they touch/grab this toy, it makes a certain "magic charms" noise with flashing white lights inside that really gets their attention. At first they let go, look at it, and then touch again. Then they're likely to set off the actual music, and they appreciate that.
The lights, combined with the magic noise, gives this stacker an extra dimension. It's another great toy at a very reasonable price, and if you buy several toys, I'd go ahead and get it. Stackers are basic and this one is unique.
The only thing to watch out for is if the baby falls on the very top yellow piece, as that one looks to me as if it has some hard edges and could hurt. Not so the other pieces, which the babies love to play with. However, perhaps because I'm so vigilent, neither of my babies has fallen on the top hard plastic piece.
The bottom rocks, so it's deliberately not quite steady, and that makes a baby want to do something to it. Little Super Star Classical Stacker has attributes that get a baby's attention and reward that attention. I think all babies would like this stacker and the price seems reasonable to me.

I got this toy for my son when he was 6 mos at a garage sale. It was missing the yellow star on top (I didn't even know it was suppose to have that) but other than that was in great condition. So, it has held up well through a couple of babies so far. At first he simply enjoyed banging the stars together for a very loud effect. My now 11 mos old still hasn't gotten the hang of putting the stars back on the stick, but loves to pull them off and "drive" them around like cars in each hand. When he was younger he liked to hold the two smallest stars, but now he always goes for the largest two. He also enjoys pushing the little button on top which controls the music and lights. He pushes it and then shakes his shoulders back and forth, dancing with a giant smile on his face. When we returned home from a two week trip, this was the first toy he scampered toward, very excited to see it again!

My baby loves it. It has all it takes to entertain a 3months old baby (sound and lights).

The rings get caught on the button that triggers the lights and music, making it too difficult to take them off and put them back on again by my little guy while he's learning how to do it. He just gets frustrated and becomes uniterested.
We tried the classic rocker stacker and it was so easy to slide the rings on and off and he seems to really like it. He loves stacker cups too!
If you already have toys that have music and lights, skip purchasing this particular product and go 'old school style' with it. Save the music/light stimulation for the toys that really need it.

This is one of the best toy I have seen for babies. I have purchased them as gifts after watching my grandson play with his. The lights, music and action keep them interested. I liked the happy colors and pieces the baby could easily pick up himself.
