 "Worth it.." 2009-12-18
By A. V. Bhalerao (SFO, USA)
This product just like many other Fisher Price products is full value for money. Our Baby girl just loves to be rocked and you really cant do that all the time.. So one sleepless night I just ordered this one and wow it works.. The tunes are also good. Our Baby likes the rhymes tune when she is in a playful mood and the rainforest tune when she is sleepy or playing with the mobile. The animals are also cute and she loves the colors. The fact that it works on electricity is one of its best feature as no changing cell all the time. And the last thing you wanna do when Baby is crying is be looking for a Screw Driver.. I would have rated it 5 stars however the music sometimes plays on it own.. kinda creepy.. actually the volume button is too sensitive..So need to keep it off when Baby is sleeping.. But its good I definitely recommend it..

"Great swing, worth every penny!" 2009-12-11
By Hoosier Mommy (Indiana)
With my first baby, we never had a really nice swing (what were we thinking?!) and the swing we did have was older and only allowed for the baby to sit straight up in it. I knew with our second baby that I wanted to get a really nice swing and see if that would work to help the baby sleep. I researched every single swing available online and finally decided on the Rainforest swing because it plugs in rather than using batteries only, and I wanted a gender neutral theme with a moving mobile. I also wanted a swing that could be used in different positions/could swing in different directions.

First of all, it was easy to put together. My husband had it together in about 20-30 minutes (he doesn't read instruction manuals, so maybe it could have been faster). It was easy to figure out how to change the direction it will swing (the seat just rotates by turning it with your hands).

The power of our swing is great. We set it on the 4th option out of 6, most of the time. If you stand above it, the swing looks like it moves slower, but try putting your head down level to the actual swinging part and you can see if moves a lot faster than it looks. I noticed this while sleeping next to the swing one night. :)

I love the music/sounds on this swing. They are far less annoying than the sounds on our Pack and Play and other items we have for baby. Cute rainforest instrumental songs, rainforest/animal sounds, etc. Everything has a tropical feel to it (like a steel-drum sound). The mobile is SO cute and our baby has loved it from the beginning. He stares at it and smiles and coos--especially the little monkey, which sort of looks right down on the baby.

The best part is that our baby sleeps in this swing CONSTANTLY. He has GERD (acid reflux) and we struggle with night-time sleeping with him, but the main place he will always fall asleep is in his swing. He sleeps for 3 hour stretches in there over night and during the day. It is a LIFE SAVER! I have a 3-year old at home too, and the swing is a great place to put the baby while I take care of her needs. He often ends up falling asleep, or cooing and smiling at the mobile, while I make my daughter lunch or play with her.

The only minor negatives that I have with this swing are I wish the head portion of the swing had more support/padding. I have to put extra support around our baby's head, because the cushion part is pretty flat. Also, right now, the tray is annoying for my 2-month old. He kicks it open a lot and it gets in the way.

PROS:

Plugs into the outlet

Adorable, moving mobile that grabs baby's attention

Cute songs/sounds, soothing to baby and not annoying to mom.

Brightly colored theme

Seat can sit more upright or be adjusted to recline a bit

Swing can move in different directions

CONS:

Head cushion area could be more supportive/padded.

Tray sometimes annoys the baby and he kicks it open; but you can remove it if you want.

Overall a wonderful swing and I'm SO glad we got it. It has been used daily since our baby was a few weeks old until now (2+ months) and I'm sure it will be used for several more months, at least.

"Loved it but not the second time around!" 2009-11-30

My first daughter enjoyed swinging in many directions, the soothing sounds and the colorful toy mobile! We stored the swing for two years. When we brought it back for our second daughter to use, it has an obnoxious, high pitched buzz whenever the swing motor is on (even when it is plugged in). My second daughter doesn't like the swing very much... probably because of the squeal!

 "Perfect swing!!!!!!!" 2009-11-28
By TRACY ANDERSON (WA)
I spent almost 3 weeks searching for the perfect swing and I feel with this one, I've found it.

I love the fact that you don't need batteries for it, it comes with a handy a/c adapter. The plug in for the adapter is in the base so there is no way the baby can grab at the cords like other swings.

The mobile can be shut off or moved out of the way, which is wonderful because some models you bonk the childs head repeatedly while getting them in and out of the swing.

I have so far not had any trouble with motor lacking ability to do a proper swing. There is a dial at the top of the swing controls so you can have many different speeds for the swing. Each speed starts out slowly and then gradually builds.

The music is nice. Each song has some light background sounds from the rainforest and there is a volume control so it's not too loud.

The swing easily rotates to swing side to side like a cradle, or when turned, front to back. I loved this part of the swing the most because other swings like this, they have to be turned off or stopped to access the chair to turn it. This one, you don't have to.

The snack tray is easy to open and in addition to a leg guard, there is also a harness.

I think this swing will have many hours of use during the next few months. It's an awesome swing! Certainly worth the money spent!

 "Was great....for a while" 2009-11-25

When we first got this swing, we loved it and our baby loved it - he still does. But we've used it for a few months now, and lately the music wont work. Only one music option will work and only occasionally, I'll have to keep stopping and starting and hitting reset at least 8 times before it'll stay on. I agree that the swing is a little slow/soft when it comes to somewhat chunky babies. Overall we were very pleased at first, but not any longer.
