 "Very Fun!" 2009-11-14

Bough it for a friend baby shower. I founded the item attractive. My friend said, it quiets her baby girl every time she is cranky lol. It is stable, and it has that toy in the front that make keep the baby busy while bouncing. My friend says this item rocks!

 "Life saver!" 2009-07-22
By Katherine M. Deweese (Tacoma, WA United States)
Wow. My son loves this bouncy seat. Not only does it entertain him, but also he finds it comfortable enough to fall asleep in. We use this every day. A godsend for when Mommy needs to shower or run out front to grab the mail or make dinner.

I like that the music/power controls are atop the "screen" and not at my child's feet. There are a variety of options for sounds and music. The seat can be put on a baby-operated mode so that it will only make sounds as long as baby is kicking the toys or bouncing in the seat. If baby falls asleep, the sounds turn off.

The fabric on the seat comes off easily and can be thrown in the washing machine. Very easy to clean.

The reason I give it four stars, not five, is that it gobbles up batteries.

 "Don't recommend it." 2009-06-27

We bought this item second hand in like new condition. The vibrations work but the chair isn't really made to support a newborn, baby kind of just fell over to the side because the chair isn't made to cradle baby's little head and shoulders. The attachment is probably not going to be turned on. It looks great and has lots of bright colors and little toys to kick, but the bubbles are LOUD like a machine gun. It's crazy. And the water in the aquarium is half evaporated with no visible leak. I'd shop around.

"Kind of a weird bouncer..." 2009-05-23
By KristaMV (Massachusetts)
There are some nice things about this bouncer, but it's also kind of weird.

It's a very comfy seat; the shape of the seat makes my twins fall asleep every time. The battery compartment has two separate areas for the vibrate vs. the activity bar, which is very nice and a feature I haven't seen in the other bouncers I have.

The weird part is the activity bar. It's got these VERY loud bubbles that sound a little bit like a machine gun. I find it annoying and my girls don't seem to be partiicularly interested in it. The toys hang a little low and out of reach, and the lights don't seem to entertain them, either. Finally, the vibrate button is flush with the rest of the plastic and very difficult to turn on or off with your foot (which a mom of twins often wants to do).

My daughter really likes to sleep in it, so it's not all bad...just has some areas I'd like to see improved. I'd like to combine the seat and battery compartment from this one with the activity bar and vibrate button on the rainforest bouncer and then you'd have a great bouncer.

"Water in tank evaporates over time; how to refill" 2009-05-02
By antijean (Boston, MA)
My oldest son (5) loved this bouncer, so did the kid we passed it down to, and so does my youngest son.

It's already been amply reviewed but I thought people might be interested in how it ages:

- active toddlers WILL be fascinated with sitting on the chair part, and torture it until it's no longer safe for infants, so put this toy away promptly when the kids are too big to sit in it (we had to replace the seat after my friend's son broke it)

- the water in the tank evaporates over the years so the bubbles no longer do a good job spinning the starfish, etc.

We refilled the tank ourselves with the following equipment:

phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, heat gun, glue gun (or epoxy), big sterile syringe, sterile water

1. remove toy bar so it's no longer getting power

2. unscrew screws in the white part of the toy bar and open it up. Note the positions of the kick toys and buttons, which will probably fall out while you're trying to refill the tank.

3. on the upper part of the tank, search for the plug for the hole for filling the tank. It's sealed on with something like epoxy or hot glue

4. CAREFULLY blast the plug with heat gun until the sealant is soft enough that the plug can be pried off with flathead screwdriver

5. use the big syringe to top off the tank with more water.

We noticed that the old liquid in there made swirling patterns where it met the new water; we reckon that the old liquid might contain something like glycerin to make it more viscous, or preservatives to keep it from getting yucky

6. reseal the plug onto the tank with hot glue or epoxy... actually we lost the plug so we filled a small plastic button with hot glue and stuck that on... time will tell whether it does a good job sealing the water in

7. try out the toy bar in the seat and rejoice if it works!

8. take it out again and replace the buttons and kick toys (orange fish goes on the right hand side, from infant's point of view. The fish face in, towards each other.) Close up the toy bar.

Hope that helps keep some of these excellent toys out of the landfill!
