"my baby loves this toy" 2010-01-29
By Dani (Washington, DC USA)
I bought this for my daughter when she was 3 months old, and was amazed at how well it occupied her. For the first time, she would lie down and be entertained for a long time! I could cook and bake and do laundry while she played with her cool play gym! It never really worked for tummy time, but that was fine by me. Also we didn't get much use out of it through the weeks when she was doing a lot of rolling- the sides of the mat are hard plastic, and I didn't think it would be comfortable for her to roll over that. Once she learned how to crawl, around 7 months old, I converted it to a tunnel (which I found really easy to do, in contrast to some of the other reviews) and she REALLY loved that. Now she is almost 12 months old and she still plays with this toy almost daily. She likes to sit inside and look at me through the mesh. She loves to pull off the toys and play with them- the ball and the musical fish are her favorite.

I have to say, when I first bought this I regretted not getting a fancier play gym. But over time it has turned out to be much better than those other gyms. And it fits pretty well in our tiny apartment!

 "Terrible!" 2009-12-09
By K. Hillenburg (Indiana)
It took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to put this together the first time! I have no idea how to convert it to a tunnel. It is poorly made, and my daughter is not interested in it AT ALL! We have tried introducing it to her many, many times over the past 6 months and nothing. The connection between the mat and the plastic sides for the tummy time is very poor. The velcro does not attach well for the toys. The short velcro should be attached to the toy, instead of the bar. This seems like a choking hazard. The other thing is that the music on the fish plays two 15 second or less tunes. The price for this does not match the quality, at all.

I am so glad I did not purchase this and it was a gift. I was not even looking for a tummy time or playmat, but if you are, I would NOT recommend this one.

"Does not convert to tunnel version - the tubing is sewn shut!" 2009-12-08
By Veronica Hanners (Front Royal, VA)
This toy was fun for our son until we tried to convert it to the tunnel. After 4 of us struggled to do it, we discovered that the it was sewn shut inside the tubing where the the tabs were sewn on. Of course by the time your baby is ready for the tunnel, your return policy has long since expired. DON'T BUY IT!

 "Don't Buy!" 2009-10-19
By Nevin's Mommy (PA)
My baby does not like this product at all!! The toys are flat and do not provide any interest for him. The one fish that plays music plays two 15sec. or so tunes that are too short to bother. Along with that you have to push the button to play the tune, which probably won't be able to do until he's 6months old or so. The entire mat takes up a lot of room and it is not easily foldable to store without taking it fully apart. I also don't like the fact that the very heavy toys are attached by Velcro only and I fear that once he is able to grab at them he'll pull them off on his head. Very disappointed with this product.

 "Not sturdy" 2009-09-18
By M. Mishra (USA)
The major drawback of this gym is that its not sturdy. The gym is attached to the bar holding the overhead poles with a simple (and very small) velcro. My now 4 months old dismantles it 2 mins straight. It took him close to 5 mins when he was 3 months... that way this gym has helped him gain motor skills :)
