 "Mixed Feelings" 2010-02-05
By C. Kumer
The initial experience with this mobile was very upsetting, due to the way it attaches to the crib it has completely scratched up the wood of the crib. I was extremely upset, even though the crib was already damaged we rigged up some rubber covers for the 'dial' portion that screws onto the back and then put weatherstripping on the back of the mobile which hits the front of the crib. I really don't like the way this attaches at all, its based on the compression of the back 'dial' as you screw it onto the back of the mobile, you have to be very careful that you don't hit the mobile as ours has tipped over and fallen into the crib. I prefer the previous one we had that attached with two plastic straps. While our baby does really enjoy the contrasting colors and the projection onto the ceiling, we do have trouble with the mobile and projection not always moving. We've had this for less than a month and it already stops moving, I even tried new batteries and it hasn't helped. Overall, I'm a little disappointed but it wasn't worth trying to return it and when its working (and not falling on her), she does enjoy it. I really wish it hadn't scratched up the crib. :(

 "The best mobile!!!!" 2009-09-16
By P. ALMQUIST (Lynn, MA USA)
I am reading these reviews and I am amazed! I bought this for my son who is now 16 months old. I thought the lights were great. Once he could look at it he loved it. It is great, I don't think the mobile is flimsy at all my son stands up and tugs on it pulls the toys off and plays with them in the morning. He loves the lights and music he turns them on all the time, even when he is just in his room playing for music to listen too! I think this is the best mobile for any baby! I didn't even know that there was a adjustment you could do to make it just the sound and lights. I am so excited to go home and see if he would like it like that. I don't think the systym is too loud. Ours has worked perfectly since day 1!! Love this so much! I plan on getting the princess version for our daughter coming next week!!

"Not a good mobile, but okay for a toddler" 2009-02-05
By Rodney Henk
We have had this product for 3 years and my son loves it. I want to warn everyone that as a mobile this thing is a piece of junk. It is designed to grow with your child and at the toddler stage it is a good product but as a mobile for a crib it is too flimsy, poorly designed and a bit scary. The scary part is that it seems like it can break off if tugged on hard enough. If you follow the recommended stages you should never have to worry about that but it seems like the arm that holds up the spinning parts can easily break off. As a matter of fact that arm has a contact point that does not meet very well which causes the light and spinning action not to work. I had actually taped it down to get it to work right but it seemed to need an adjustment frequently. Also the spinning mechanism makes alot of noise. Not the type of noise to lull a baby to sleep. Also there are stickers for the faces of the panda which my son somehow was actually able to gnaw off after he started standing in his crib. My son is currently going on age three and we still have this on his bed and loves to hit the buttons for his night time music. The light at this stage still makes too much noise for my taste but if you put the music on the highest setting that helps a bit. My son gets upset when the batteries are low and the music box does not work which is to be expected but whenever he wakes up in the middle of the night he pushes a button for music and happily drifts back into slumberland. I really only can say I like this product for it's use with a toddler. If you want a cool mobile try anything but this one.

 "good value" 2009-01-25
By Victoria (North Carolina)
My daughter likes this mobile a lot. I had looked at some Tiny Love products (which are more elaborate and seem like they'd have more stimulating movement), but didn't want a mobile to take over the crib or (reading from other reviews) potentially fall on the baby, and we weren't sure if a more elaborate mobile would strike the balance between soothing (to calm the baby down a little so she can think about sleep) and stimulating.

Ideally, it would be nice if there were a way to activate the mobile from another room, but that would increase the price, and the price was one of the nice features of this mobile. Our daughter likes it a lot, and the colors and birds are universal enough to look good in many nurseries. And I think the stars projected on the ceiling are really fun, even though I can't tell how much my daughter pays attention to this. We really like that it attaches to the slats, not on the top rail of the crib. (Pay attention to this if your crib has sloping lines and thick rails like ours does; turns out we wouldn't have been able to do any other type of mobile with our crib.)

My daughter continues to like this mobile after a few months (she's now almost six months). Only downside is there is a little mechanical buzz now, altho' that may be just when the batteries wear down. (Overall, I haven't felt the batteries wear down that fast.)

I'm glad I got this for my daughter.
