This donkey is absolutely adorable and I couldn't resist buying him for my daughter. I was not aware that it had a rattle inside of it, but it's not noisy or anything so no big deal. My daughter sleeps with him every night. He was a little on the pricey side, but no regrets here. Not exactly an "educational" toy, just a very good lovey!

My daughter hasn't had this donkey very long, so I can't really judge the durability of it. I will say, however, that it appears to be very well made, and I don't think anything is going to pull off of it when little fingers yank.
Otherwise, it's just a really cute, VERY cuddly and soft stuffed donkey. The description and picture don't do him justice. My daughter, who is almost 10 months old, seems to like him, but she doesn't spend more time playing with him than any of her other stuffed animals or toys. (I think I've spent more time petting and holding him than she has!)
I can't rate it very high in educational value, because again: It's just a stuffed animal. But it IS cute, it IS cuddly, and I do think it may be around for a good, long time. If you're looking for that type of thing, this is it. In fact, I've put several of the other Tolo "cuddle" toys on my daughter's Amazon wish list.
