A fiend of mine had a similar wind chime but I couldn't find that model, so I purchased this instead for my infant (1 month old). She loved it and so did we (it is like a wind chime, a very pleasant sound). This is designed to hang from one of those overhead bars in a baby playset and not something you'd buy just by itself. She can swat at it and easily make sweet music. As a child develops they can grab the chimes and shake them to make "music" also. My friend's baby loved his and so does my daughter. She can play with this for an hour easily several times a day. Only wish I had bought this sooner.

My daughter received this as a gift for her 1st birthday. She did enjoy the music as most do at her age however as stated in an earlier review the toy is not suitable for young children. My daughter could not operate it on her own at all and even I had trouble with it several times. Unfortunatley I eventually just threw it away instead of passing it on to a friend or good will as I do with most other toys. Not recommended.

I bought this for my 15 mos. old for Christmas. You have to wind up the music by a knob on the bottom. The white button you push to make the bear pop up is not easy for tiny hands or fingers. The lid requires strong hands to push it closed. Two days ago, while the music was playing and the bear was spinning around, she tried to push the bear down, without using the lid. I heard her cry out and saw she had pushed with her index finger at the base of the bear and her finger had become stuck between the round base and the area where the bear slides down into. Since the lid was open, the mechanics of the toy was forcing the bear to stay up and try to spin, and since her finger was caught, she could not and did not know to push the bear down again to remove her finger. Her fingertip was pretty red for a couple of hours, even though it was only caught for a second. This toy should be removed from the market since the potential for such a painful and possible serious injury exists.

every piece makes a noise... and not an obnoxious one! it clicks or clacks... not loud either. You can take it places and not be embarassed. We really only buy waldorf inspired type toys like Haba, Erzi, pretend play items etc...

and Tolo has made its way in... My two year old plays with it daily. It is simple and yet makes her wonder. My 5 mo old loves it as well. Great size for her and she is entranced with the clicks and clacks.

I recommend. I am hoping for the house this holiday season.

This donkey is absolutely adorable and I couldn't resist buying him for my daughter. I was not aware that it had a rattle inside of it, but it's not noisy or anything so no big deal. My daughter hasn't had this donkey very long, so I can't really judge the durability of it. I will say, however, that it appears to be very well made, and I don't think anything is going to pull off of it when little fingers yank.

Otherwise, it's just a really cute, VERY cuddly and soft stuffed donkey. The description and picture don't do him justice. My daughter, who is almost 10 months old, seems to like him, but she doesn't spend more time playing with him than any of her other stuffed animals or toys. (I think I've spent more time petting and holding him than she has!)

I can't rate it very high in educational value, because again: It's just a stuffed animal. But it IS cute, it IS cuddly, and I do think it may be around for a good, long time. If you're looking for that type of thing, this is it. In fact, I've put several of the other Tolo "cuddle" toys on my daughter's Amazon wish list.
