much better than a previous monitor we had purchased. very little "white noise" from this unit. works as good or better than many units i've seen that cost 2-3x as much.

I recently bought this monitor for our third child. We've been using it for a week now and it is by far the worst monitor I've ever tried. Maybe mine is defective. It hums LOUDLY on every frequency and barely transmits any other sound. I've had to place the unit about a foot from the baby in order to hear him at all and he is still barely audible. I certainly could never sleep with this thing turned on. Terrible, terrible monitor. I will be writing to the company.

Well with the birth of my daughter, my wife and I of course purchased our monitor and loved it the first night. The receiver works both on batteries or plugged into a wall outlet which is a nice feature. It does pick up some static for us but the sound quality compared to static is great.
The receiver works for about one night (about 8-10 hours of use) on batteries and then you need to switch/recharge them. I use the same rechargable batteries in other devices and have no issues but of course a constant use of a battery for 10 hours is much.
In short, I figured I would then just use the receiver plugged in and have fresh batteries inserted incase of a power outage... no go there, this product likes to stay off during a power outage. It's as if the unit knows the DC power cord is plugged in and will not switch over to batteries.
Overall, great product if you have the patients of charging batteries every day or have some form of backup power supply to your wall outlets. Being a Fisher Price product we expected more, but for myself and my wife, we don't like chancing a power outage and not have the receiver switch over to batteries so this is being exchanged for another monitor.

We just got the monitor and it works as expected, no interferences, clear sound. We could not see the need for a more expensive unit, and F Price's monitor does the job nicely for a little price tag.

I live in a tri level house and was a little worried that no monitor would have the range and clarity needed to do a good job. The monitor is better then I thought. Wish I would have bought it months ago. I am one happy buyer!
