I bought this today to replace a monitor I had that suddenly stopped working after 3 years. This monitor has 2 channels and neither works. All you will hear is a lot of static. OK, not true, you will also hear music that is not playing in your house or TV that your neighbors are watching. What you won't hear is your child above all that noise. This is being returned first thing in the morning.

We have the really nice Angelcare monitor at home with motion sensor (which freaking rules, BTW) but I didn't want to travel with the nice one. So we went out and bought this el cheapo Fisher Price baby monitor as a cheap traveling monitor. Wow does it suck. You really do get what you pay for with this one.
Pros:
- Nightlight feature is a neat idea... (see cons)
- The sound-o-meter lights at the top can be seen from both sides of the receiver, which is kinda neat.
- the green power light on the receiver is crazy bright, if your eyes are adjusted to the dark you can almost see to walk
- I can hear my screaming toddler just fine, plenty loud and all that.
Cons:
- nightlight is not as bright as a normal nightlight, it's really dim so it's not as useful as it could be.
- the green power light on the receiver is crazy bright, point it away from your sleeping face.
- very static-y and buzzy. Sounds like a UFO is hovering on my nightstand. (Yes I've tried both A and B channels.)
- power cord for receiver *refuses* to stay plugged into receiver properly. I have to set it just right and very gently let go for it to work.
- tried batteries, which worked, but they didn't last long. could be a common thing but I could swear my Angelcare's batteries last longer.
- sound quality/clarity isn't as good as my Angelcare. With my Angelcare I could hear the tiny whisper of her breathing when she was a newborn.
Bottom-line... if you just need an el cheapo monitor to get you by for a while, or use it for travel, then it's tolerable. And if you leave it at a relative's by mistake, or if it breaks, you won't be too heartbroken. I really don't recommend using it full-time though, not by a long shot! I'm going to go post a review for my Angelcare monitor next, if you want to know more about that one.

I bought this because of the good price. However, I had to return it (save the packaging until you try it out). It was completely unuseable. The static was so loud that it would have kept me up at night. I tried the two different settings and they both had way too much static.

As was said before, you do get what you paid for. It hasn't been a BAD receiver considering I only use it every so often for my son, HOWEVER . . . I have only had this monitor for 4 months and it is already broken. The first few times I used it, I got interference, static, could hear each and every word that someone in/near my neighborhood was having with their CB radio friends. The overhearing convos got so annoying that I had to turn to volume completely down and watch for the red lights to indicate my son was making noise! ALSO . . . I don't use the monitor on a "daily" basis, but the volume wheel, which is used to turn the receiver on, just completely stopped working. The past few days, it would turn and turn and turn THEN turn the unit on, but the volume wouldn't change once it was on . . . and it was difficult to turn off. It will now not even turn ON. The thing has never even moved off of the table, so it isn't like it's been being dropped and abused. Like I said before, it is OK if you want something cheap and are really using it very sparingly, but if you want something that is going to work for an extended amount of time, this is probably not a good choice.

This product had way too much static! If I turned the volume down enough where the static didn't drive me crazy, I couldn't hear my daughter. I feel like I wasted my money. I would not recommend this product.
