 "Great for small children" 2009-01-19
By Mark J. Slocum (Metairie, La. United States)
I bought this item for my 10 month old great-niece. She has other TickleMe Elmo items. But these items are small enough so she can carry them with her and hold while she is sleeping. I know that this is supposed to be a special collection but I have never believed in keeping toys in their boxes and never touch them.

Besides if you try to take these away from my great-niece she cries her head off.

Small enough for smaller children and she has her choice of 5 different items - classic Elmo, chicken Elmo (her favorite),rocker Elmo, limbo Elmo and E-L-M-O elmo.

 "bassinet" 2009-08-16
By Karina Mattingly (junction city, ks)
This bassinet was a good transition for me and my little one. At first she was sleeping in the bed with me then in the bassinet finally to her crib. She was 3 months old when i had to move her to the crib because the bassinet wasnt big enough for her. I see people complaining about how long the music or heart beat goes before shutting of being to short. It was perfect for me and my little one. She only needed to hear it for a certain amount of time and then she was sleeping and i didnt have to stay up and wait for her to be asleep to turn it of so it wouldnt kill the batteries. So as far as that goes I guess it depends on your babies temperment. I dont like that you cant take the cloth parts out. My mother had to cut it off and sew it and add buckles so we could wash it. If your baby pukes in there or worse how are you gonna clean it? its stuck to the thing when you buy it. Also the pad/mattress is so thin my mom made a thicker one of those as well. Portability is great.

Note: I'm 5'4 and i poked my eye at a night feeding on the part that holds the net or whatever that is. It didnt hurt because its round and the screw goes on the bottom side of it but something people should know when reaching in to get the baby in the dark. ;)

 "DON'T BUY THIS!!!!!!!" 2009-07-01
By Jeannie Swanson (MN)
We ordered this bassinet before our daughter was born and the first one came with chippeed paint all around the buttons and it made a grinding noise when gliding. We sent it back and got a second one, which still made the grinding noise. We thought that maybe we could get used to it. Once our daughter was born and we tried putting her to sleep in it we found that the base is wobbily and when she makes the slightest movement the base moves and makes a knocking noise. The noise scares her and wakes her up. Please buy something else. Yes it is beautiful but it is not made for infants to sleep in. It was hard for me to send this back because it is the most beautiful bassinet on the market, but my daughter had only slept in it for maybe ten minutes over the period of three months. I ordered a (manual) gliding cradle made by Sorelle. A much better option.

"Nice Product bu could be improved upon........" 2009-06-24
By C. Slater (Charleston, WV)
After much research on the web about this fabulous bassinet, I decided to go ahead and purchase it for our 2nd child on the way. Very easy to assemble, seems to be very sturdy and of good quality. The sounds and motions are great. The only complaint that I have is the pad that goes in the bassinet is so thin. All of the reviews that I have read are correct. Me and my husband went to Walmart and bought a roll of bedding foam and cut it to fit the oval shaped pad to put underneath and that seems to help. I wish there were additional sheets for it that you could purchase too. Overall, I would recommend it to a friend!

"Nice looking chair but Could be better" 2009-11-18

This is so sleek and easy to move around we love the colors and sounds but the mobile is boring and only moves if you swing it, They should have put a mechanical mobile to keep babies attention.

 "Almost perfect" 2009-11-08
By Christi Lynn (Northern California)
We've used this seat since my girl was born. She's about 3 months old now. It's very comfy. Sometimes she sleeps in it. When she was new it was the only thing she would sleep in. Mostly I use it for her to sit in while I'm busy in the kitchen. She can be safe and comfy and watch me while I'm busy. She doesn't seem to care yet whether it's vibrating or not. The music is ok. I keep it pretty low, but you can turn it up louder. The little hanging dragonfly is cute, but I wish there was something she could interact with. The back leg is adjustable and collapses for travel. But it still isn't easy to travel with. The front leg should collapse too to make it easier. The handles on the sides are great for when I need to pick it up and move her to a different location. I haven't had to change the batteries yet... even though I'm always forgetting to turn it off. It has an auto-off after awhile, though. All-in-all I love it and can't live without it.

"It's very pretty, but my baby doesn't really care for it" 2009-10-27
By Total Spaz (Memphis, TN USA)
I've had this sitting on my kitchen table, and I've been using it as a place to set the baby down so I can use both hands to do a quick task like get myself a drink or a snack. Unfortunately, he doesn't like to be in it for more than a couple of minutes. The vibration, music, and mobile don't seem to appeal to him at all. If he's already whiny or crying, he just cries harder when I put him in this seat. The Fisher-Price Rainforest Bouncer, while not as attractive as the Zen seat, is much more interesting to him because of the waterfall and moving characters. He'll sit happily in that seat for up to 20 minutes. Now that that he's big enough to sit in the high chair and activity center, those will be our new short-term baby parking spots.

 "Mixed feelings" 2009-09-18
By T. Needham (Washington, DC USA)
I have to give this a mixed review. Some things may be particular to my baby. I get a lot of compliments on its aesthetics. The music choices are limited and hard to hear. Plus the music is a little too zen for my liking. There's not a lot of stimulation - just that bug to look at although my baby does like looking at it but I have to bat it to get it to move as she is still too young to shake the seat. While it is portable, I've found it heavy and awkward to move from room to room and no way would I travel with it. Baby will stay in it for about 10 minutes only. In the end I wish that I had saved some money and bought one of the more "toy" looking seats like my friends have.

 "Love it!" 2009-09-11
By J. Harris (Charlottesville, VA)
I really like this product. The colors are appealing, the music is great and it blends in nicely with our home decor. My only complaint is that I wish it reclined a little more than it does so that our daughter can be laying more instead of in a such an upright position.

 "This swing is fabulous!" 2009-12-01
By T. Roberts
We started out with a travel swing for our baby---not a good idea. She was never a fan of it so I was very hesitant to spend more money on a full size swing. I went forward with getting one because I needed some type of relief---a place to rest the baby other than her crib. We purchased this swing when our daughter was 3 months old (now 7 months). I wish I had purchased it sooner than 3 months--this would have been a wonderful thing to have when coming home from the hospital! This swing is beautiful and fits our decor well. In the past we used a regular baby swing with our son which is not the same as a cradle swing--this has more of a papasan chair seat which seems way more comfortable. I love the fact that the music is soft and that there are several music/sound options--it's not the loud irritating music that most baby stuff is equipped with. The fact that the swing can swing back to front as well as side to side is also a great feature. I love that this swing can be plugged in--no batteries needed (though you can use batteries if you like)!!

The lowest speed setting is a bit faster than you would expect so as others have stated in previous reviews, weighing down the swing with a blanket does the trick. Once the baby is no longer a "newborn" then a blanket is not needed to weigh down the seat. I love the fact that you can remove the seat from the frame and take it into another room without disturbing the baby--again another reason why I wish I had purchased this immediately upon my daughter's birth. The built-in fold over blanket is cute, however it is not adequate to keep a baby warm---totally more of a neat feature rather than providing sufficient warmth. I always layer the baby with one of her soft, cuddly blankets when she is in the swing--she seems to love it. And I am surprised at how much the baby seems to still like the mobile that hangs above her head--it's been 4 months and I still catch her glancing at it. This swing features a good amount of variety when it somes down to music, swinging direction, and the ability to remove the seat altogether. The colors are almost a pea green, dark brown (almost espresso) and burgandy--it's beautiful.

We chose this swing because of the style and because of the seat being different than the traditional swing seat. I also like that there is not a tray on this swing like some swings have--I like that my daughter uses the swing to rest and not to play and bang around--if there was a tray she'd be distracted from laying back. I use her walker and stationary entertainer for when she needs some action--we use the swing for quiet rest time. I hope to use this swing if we have more children in the future--it was well worth the price and I would recommend this to anyone that doesn't want a traditional swing or to anyone who is looking to get a very comfortable, top of the line swing. If you are not a fan of pastel colors and want a nice looking unisex swing that also happens to be comfortable, functional, and safe go for this one! It's pricer than some swings but as much as we've used it, it's been well worth it. If you have a small space however, I would not recommend this swing--it is larger and takes up a good amount of room due to the fram being wide at the bottom.

 "I love this swing" 2009-11-23
By Camomila (Buenos Aires, Argentina)
I got this swing when my baby was 1 month old. He immediately loved playing and napping in it. He is now almost 6 months old and still enjoys it every day.

Pros:

- Can be plugged in. (don't have to buy batteries! This is great since my son spends a lot of time in it. Sleeps 1-2 hr naps in it...)

- The music is pleasant, especially the nature sounds. And when i don't play music, the sound of the swing itself is not loud at all.

- The design is really nice, minimalist yet cozy unlike other baby gear.

- The removable seat is great. I use it to take him all over the house as an alternative to having him on the floor.

Cons

- The mobile doesn't move on its own.

- No light projector

Overall though, this was a great buy.

"Wonderful Design, Not Ideal for Reflux Babies" 2009-11-04
By Jessica Ferris (Dallas, TX USA)
We bought this swing because we loved the design, how it didn't look overly baby-ish in our home, and because it had awesome reviews. What we didn't account for was the cradle positioning. The cradle has two reclining positions, both of which are fairly parallel to the ground. Because our daughter has reflux, we needed something that offered more variation in incline. Both times we attempted using this swing, our daughter sccreeeeammmeeeddddd, and we eventually returned it and purchased a Graco Lovin' Hug (which she loves).

If Fisher Price redesigned this swing to offer more of an incline position, it would be a perfect swing.

Customer Buzz
"Handsome swing, and it doesn't require batteries!" 2009-10-28
By Total Spaz (Memphis, TN USA)
Pros:

- This thing makes it possible for me to take a shower each day. After his morning feeding and playtime, I stick the baby in the swing in our darkened bedroom, and he'll nap long enough for me to get cleaned up and dressed. Yay.

- It looks really nice and blends in well with our decor, unlike most baby gear.

- It plugs in! SO nice to have one piece of baby equipment which doesn't require constant battery changes. We have a second swing in another room, and we have to change its batteries a couple of times a week even though we don't use it very often.

- Easy to change directions (front to back or side to side), just hold the seat and rotate. This is very important for us because it's all about novelty when you're trying to get a baby to stop crying. If our kid is crying while swinging in one direction, often I can just rotate the seat, he'll stop crying and look surprised for a second, then he drifts off to sleep. PRICELESS.

Cons:

- I wish the mobile turned or did something more interesting. Our baby gets bored quickly while looking at it.

- Occasionally the gears will get hung up or something and it will come to a near stop. This really sucks because the baby will usually wake up from his nap if it stops. (I subtracted a star for this reason.)

"So should I purchase the infant seat as well?" 2009-10-26
By Expectantmom (Washington)
I am an expectant mother, I really like the looks of the Zen Collection. My question is, If I purchase the cradle swing, that has a detachable seat, do I really need to buy the separate infant seat as well? Seems to me they do the same things? Any input could help... Thanks!
