 "We like our hippo" 2010-01-02
By J. Eitemiller (Jessup, MD United States)
We've had our hippo for maybe a year now, and we're pleased with it. We have standard height sinks and toilets, and our 3 1/2 year old is about 36 inches tall, she has no trouble at all reaching anything. The hippo has a nice non-skid surface on top, and little non-skid pads on it's feet so it doesn't slip off the floor and our child doesn't slip off of it; it's also light enough for her to pick up and carry over to whatever she needs to reach, which is both helpful to us and makes her feel more independant, so that's good. She loves things that look like other things, so the stool with the hippo face is perfect for her. We've been really happy with it our hippo, I think I paid ten bucks for it, so I'd say it was money well spent.

 "Basic" 2009-07-17
By A's Mom (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida)
Pros: This is comfortable for my 2 year old daughter to use and, so far, seems stable and reliable. Easy to clean, good for use as a 'potty' stool.

Cons: The plastic quality was not consistent since there were some thin spots that made the stool look worn, I expected better quality from Fisher Price. It was received in dirty condition- some black scuff marks presumably from manufacturing or distribution.

Its use is limited since it is a short stool- it is good for the potty, but not high enough for reaching the sink

 "shorter than advertised" 2009-06-04
By Barbara Rudd (OK USA)
This stool is only about 7 inches high and it really doesn't help small children reach the sink or the potty. I was disappointed because I really thought it was going to be taller.

 "Cute, but too short" 2009-05-12
By Dog Walker (San Diego, CA)
Cute and very stable stool, but it's too short for use with the potty or sink even though my 2 year old is tall (36") for his age. Our old Cosco metal-rubber topped stool works best for now since we have to help our toddler up and down anyway.

 "Great Little Stool!" 2009-05-03
By Happy Mom
I purchased this for my two year old son today at Wal-Mart for $6.50! It was the last one in stock and they are no longer selling it so I got it for half price! We haven't really used it yet, other than my son sitting on it, but it looks very sturdy and has a 200lb weight limit stamped into the bottom. It has built in carry handles on the sides and four rubber non-slip feet on the bottom. The top has pretty purple rubber dots to make it non-slip and the front has an adorable printed hippo face on it. This is adorable, lightweight, and perfect for a boy or girl.

 "worthless" 2009-12-19
By Eric J. Green (texas, usa)
Make no mistake, I try to be has honest and informative as I can be in my rating of items i've bought here on Amazon. This item is completely WORTHLESS.It does NOT work as advertised. I have tried on 3 different"standard" faucets, kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and your average standard bathroom tub. all 3 times (call me a glutten for punishment) has ended with water EVERYWHERE... except coming out of the stupid smug hippo face. I'll chok this ~$10 up to education... read the friggin reviews before puchasing.

trust me... stay away from this product!.. now, how can i get my $10 back???? :o)

This product I had to return. It doesnt fit on a standard bathtub faucet. So sad its a great concept.

 "Does not work" 2009-11-02
By H. Huang (Boston, MA United States)
I decided to give it a try despite all the negative reviews because it's cheap, but what a waste of money. It did not work at all. I even tried to put it on the shower head as some reviewers suggested and it still did not work.

"and the spray went back the very next day" 2009-10-23
By worlie (south texas)
The pictures show it fitting on a sink as well as a bathtub. Of course, when you open the package you get the warning that it will not fit on a bathtub faucet that has the "push button" style shower spray conversion instead on the "pull up" style. Which one do you think we have?

Tried it on the sink, as the twins are still small, but water squirted everywhere with all possible scenarios. And talk about "elbow grease"!!! Good lord, I was panting afterward. Ridiculous.

 "Works for me!" 2009-09-12
By Cammy Chan (MD)
I purchased it because I took my 3-years old son to beach in this summer. It does fit into bathtub faucet in hotel. It's easy-installed. But I do want to share my experience. At first, I read the instruction quickly. I put the ring with adapter into faucet. It's very hard and could not be fit. Later, I took out the adapter and just used the ring. I can install it less than 15 seconds.

I also find a way to have it stay longer. Water pressure is not only one of the keys. Water tempature is another key. If the water is a bit warmer, it stays on faucet less than 1 minute. The water tempature is pretty much the one for newborn baby. If your bathtube has 2 knobs (one for cold water and one for hot water), you probably can use it. Also, you need to turn on the cold water first and then hot water. As mentioned, if the water is a bit warmer, it doesn't stay long. I think it's due to the soft (or cheap??) plastic of the ring. I have silly thought. If you put the ring into the refrigerator before use, it may stay longer. I haven't tried it though. As a recap, it will stay pretty long (talking about 5-10 minutes or longer) if the water tempature and pressure are right.

As a parent, I will let my son using it for summer time only due to water tempature. As a customer, I'm happy with this product for such price. My son likes it very much and enjoy his shower time during travel.
