 "My son LOVES this" 2009-12-02

My son uses this to fall back asleep several times a night. He LOVES his "birdie show."

"So cute! Wonderful! Can I have another one please?" 2008-04-12
By A. McClellan (Houston, TX)
My son has loved this soother since he was born. He loves it more and more the older he gets. Now he has moved into his "big boy bed" and still wants to have is close by - so we attached it to the safety guardrail that we installed at his bed. He uses it when he wakes in the night (if he does) and sometimes (usualy) he wants it on when we out him to bed so he caan watch and listen to it while he settles into sleep. He won't be wanting to give up his soother anytime soon. To my dismay - these cute soothers have been discontinued so I will have a tough time getting more of them for future siblings. A few people have mentioned the grinding noise that the soother makes -- well the grinding noise that the soother makes is actually soothing and I love it - it is just white noise really. We love this product!

 "The Best Crib Toy/Soother!" 2007-12-01
By E. Jackson
I have had this since my two-year-old was an infant, and he has always loved it. When he was tiny baby and going to sleep on his back, he loved the ceiling lights, which he could see comfortably without having to twist his neck. Now that he's older, he still loves to go to sleep with just the music and the sound of the birds chirping. He still turns it on in the middle of the night if we wakes up, and then goes right back to sleep on his own!

"My son loves this toy" 2007-10-31
By B. Hobbs (Ohio)
The music options are great; not just one song.

The light projection is entertaining for my son.

The noise as the birds go round is a little much, but it bothers me more than my son.

To tell you what a hit this is and how much my son loves (& depends upon) it...I awoke one evening at 2 AM to random house noise. While trying to fall back asleep, I could hear music. While I freaked out a little at first, I got up and went to my son's room to find the item on and my son fast asleep. I am happy to know that my son can find ways to soothe himself back to sleep.

In the morning he will turn this on while he plays until I get up. It's great. I know that the Ocean's Wonder is popular, but I want to let you know that this works just as well!

My only complaint (not enough to lower my rating) is that I have to take it off the crib to change the batteries. Very minor pet peeve.

 "My Son LOVES his!" 2007-09-27
By M. Bousfield (Knoxville, TN United States)
My son loves his 'birds'. The music lasts longer than most baby lullaby mobiles and such - and gives your child longer to fall asleep. It has 3 songs, womb noises and bird tweets, or just bird tweets. It has 3 settings including just music without lights, music with lighted birds moving, and music with a lighted ceiling display. Now that my son is older he can turn it on or off by pressing the blue bird, he can stand up and switch the songs and the settings. He loves it and it's worth every penny and more! It has 4 D batteries so get rechargeables and have 2 sets to swap in and out. And pull out the white cords that go under the batteries for supposed easy release of batteries; the back doesn't close with them under the batteries and my son pulled out one white cord and could have tried to swallow it!

"My son loved this teether!!!" 2009-10-09
By Staci (San Bernardino, CA United States)
I was surprised to see this product had such bad reviews! This was the only teether my son would use and it has never leaked. He is going on 2 now and I still have no problems with this teether! My son loved it and I was very very happy to receive this as a gift.

 "Like they said...It leaks" 2009-09-10
By guyinthechairtyping
I heard my boy make the sound he makes after taking a big drink....ahhhhhh! I run to him and find liquid all over his face and clothes. I realize this ring is leaking. I start looking at it for something to search on....brand name, name, product #, uhoh....made in China. Great! I figure its got lead and mercury in the liquid at least. Thankfully, it says just water.

Don't buy it.

 "Not durable" 2009-05-27
By Elynn Maheyn (KY)
We received this teether as a gift item. I was very excited about it since it was partial liquid and partial solid, it was easy for our infant to grasp, and it wasn't too big for an infant mouth. However, as others have mentioned, it is not at all durable and leaks. I would not recommend this teether.

Was disappointed with this soother because it leaked before we had a chance to use it! the fluid was coming out from the soft vinyl links.

"Not a long lasting solution!" 2008-02-11
By Kay
This is probably the best sized/shaped teething ring we tried but we did not find it particularly durable. The soft clear plastic parts are the perfect size for little mouths (we found most other too large and bulky when she started teething at 4 months) but being thin vinyl, once the teeth started coming in in earnest she bit through them very quickly. I wavered between three and four stars, really it should be three because they wear out so fast BUT they're cheap enough to replace and she did seem to like it a lot both as a teething ring and a toy.

Now you can soothe baby with classical music, sweet lullabies, or soft nature sounds while offering a scenic light show that's just right for different ages. Mom can choose from Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Beautiful Dreamer lullabies to help baby drift to dreamland, classical selections from Bach and Beethoven, or nature sounds like a babbling brook or tweeting birdies.

Moms can also change what's projected to match baby's stage of development, sliding a new card in as visual skills improve. For newborns (birth-3M), projections are simple, high-contrast images designed to help teach focus. Infants (3-6M), get complex shapes and colors, designed to intrigue as visual skills improve. When baby is old enough, the moon and stars project soothing colors on wall or ceiling with its rotating base. The soft light also serves as a great nightlight.

Choose a music length between 5, 10, or 15 minutes. And take the show on the road, for calm, comfort, and compact portability wherever you go. Includes a convenient handle for portability, three image slides that are easy to insert and store conveniently in the base and power/volume control. Requires 4 "C" (LR14) alkaline batteries (not included). Measures 11" x 3.375" x 11".

"great music and light show projector" 2009-12-15
By Amy R. Clayton
I love this projector. I bought this for my new born who is now 1 1/2 years old. She still loves it and falls asleep with it every night. She even enjoys using it during the day to walk around with it and hum the tunes. After I first purchased it my three year old (at that time) kept trying to steal it from her sister's room to play with it and repeatedly asked to have it in her room at night. My now four year old still likes to change the light selections and pick a song of her choice for her sister before going to bed.

The toy is extremely durable and I don't even remember changing the batteries but maybe once so far.

I love how the pictures move from one to the next. It comes with three slide shows; my favorite being the first stage slide show. It projects a large smile face, heart, checkered pattern...I can't remember if that is it or if there is one more, but it is great.

The music is very soothing. At night I usually turn on the nature sounds, but the music is nice as well. I like the time selection, music volume control, and the ability to sit this toy on a book shelf or table, and angle the projector toward the ceiling over the crib... all which makes this toy excellent.

I typically don't write these reviews as I am always on the go; however, this is a great toy and is really deserving of a great review. I have decided to purchase this as a gift for my new little nephew since my kids have enjoyed it so well.

 "Great product!" 2009-12-13
By Christina Costello
My 5 week old son is in love with this product. It is the only thing that captivates his attention. Even when he is crying and i lay him in his crib and turn on the light show he just stops crying and stares at the shapes and colors. The time settings are great also, 15 minutes is just enough time for him to relax and fall asleep. The light projects great and since he is only 5 weeks old i have it resting sideways so the projection is on the wall closer to him than the ceiling. Both ways the lighting is just enough. The music variety is great also.

I would recommend this product to anyone! Definitely worth the price especially since you can move this from room to room.

"Great Next Step for Toddler" 2009-11-12
By J. Moum (ND, USA)
I bought this soother when my almost 2 year old son transitioned to a toddler bed last month. He loved his crib mobile music when going to bed/nap, so I wanted something that would let him still have music and that he could operate himself. Love that it is battery operated so we can now take it with us when traveling. We have only used the stage 3 slide for the visual show, and he seems to like it quite a bit. The volume is adjustable, as well as the time it stays on. Definately was the right purchase for us.

 "Favorite Toy Ever" 2009-09-27
By K. Lawrence (NY United States)
I got this for my daughter for her first Christmas (she was 7 months old). I bought it thinking it would be a good nightlight/soother. At first she didn't care for it too much (at all) and I almost gave it away. I'm SO glad I didn't. It is now her favorite toy of all time (she is 2 1/2 now), one that I will keep and put away in her hope chest when/if she finally outgrows it. I promised a friend with a new baby one for Christmas this year but was dismayed to learn they don't make them this way anymore. Which is why I'm on Amazon and Ebay looking for this style.

When my daughter got to be a toddler she took this off the shelf in her room and started playing with it. One night she and her father spent about an hour watching the "moon" in her darkened bedroom. Since then she LOVES this toy...and the Moon! She is so fascinated by the Moon now, because of this toy, that it was the theme of her 2nd Birthday party and why, at two, we can lay out in the back yard and watch the stars for hours and I am planning a trip to a Planetarium that I expect to be the thrill of her little life.

So if you got this for a little baby but the baby doesn't care for it - hang on. Your toddler might LOVE it. And who knows - maybe it will spark an interest in Astronomy!

 "Great product" 2009-05-14
By J. Mehr
I bought this because I could not find the turtle soother that I had originally wanted, but have been very pleased. I use it for all of my child's naps and at night. Some of the complaints about the product have to do with the light show. It is only visible at night in a dark room and the pictures can be blurry. However, it is for infants who do not see particularly well in the first place. My daughter does not seem to miss the light show, anyway. She only really cares about the music. The good things about the product are the three volume settings, the choice of music, and the fact that it is portable. You can also change the amount of time the music plays, from 5, 10, to 15 minutes. I have only had to change the batteries once since I bought it several months ago. This has worked out well for us after my daughter became too old for the mobile.

"12 months of use and still going strong!" 2009-11-27
By Gennifer (Georgia)
We have had this crib soother for about 12 months now. When my daughter was around 5 months old, she figured out how to kick the parrot to get it turned on and it made her ever-so-happy. We never had any issues with the animals squeaking and we use a night light in her room so we do not have any issues with the lights being too bright. My daughter is 15 months old now and has found the switches on the side that control the lights and motion. Apparently she prefers just the music because every time I turn one of the others on, she switches it back to music only.

While I agree that it is a very daunting task to get the straps off, I would be more worried if they weren't difficult. Babies get smart and get rough with their toys... which poses a safety risk! I think the straps are so tight for safety reasons and therefore I am able to tolerate it. We only ran through batteries when we had this on full swing all of the time. Now that she prefers just music or music and lights (occasionally) we have changed the batteries maybe twice in the last 6 months. She will turn the music on when she's just playing in her room, too. So, this gets used at more than just bedtime and naptime. I think this will last until we get into a toddler bed and through the next little one!

We have another crib toy that I purchased a few months ago as a backup for when the soother needs the batteries changed or just to give her something different and it runs through batteries A LOT faster than this. The straps are almost as difficult on that one as the Rainforest soother but I have noticed my daughter has managed to get it somewhat loose from time to time. Overall, VERY happy with this purchase and I wish I had gotten it for her from the start.

 "A Real Comfort" 2009-11-12
By E. Levin
Our baby has used this since her second or third week of life. She's now 6 months old and beginning to interact with it. We play the nature sounds and lullabies when she goes down for her naps and for bed, and if she's slightly fussy we play it with the light function. It usually calms her down. It also functions for a really long time on battery power. We've only changed the batteries once, and we use it at least 4 times a day. My only problem with it is the method it uses to attach to the crib. The holes on the straps that are supposed to loop over the pegs are really small. Once you've put it on the crib, you will probably want to leave it there until your baby is in a bed.

"Great until water started to look rusty" 2009-11-09
By Violet's Mom (New Orleans, LA)
This was a great product and my baby who is now a toddler loved it. In fact, she still loves it but we recently noticed the water turning into a rust color. It lasted for two years though. Unfortunately, we decided to toss it since the water looked bad.

"Our 5 month old twins love these" 2009-11-03
By Mandy H (Virginia, United States)
These are great soothers for our twin boys. It can captivate them for 10+ minutes and often times we turn just the music on before we lay them down in their cribs to sleep which helps lull them (otherwise they may stare at the visuals too long and not go to sleep). But for keeping them awake and entertained these are great. My biggest complaint about them though is how they attach to the crib. Those straps are soooo annoying!! I hate them which is why I only gave this product 4 stars, and debated giving it only 3. I wanted to use one of these soothers sometimes on the crib, but also sometimes in the living room since we spend so much time with the boys in there. Well given what a HUGE pain they are to attach/detach from the crib that doesn't happen. Plus, the bottom of the soother is not flat, which is another stupid thing. I wanted to just set it up on the coffee table for instance when in the living room, but that doesn't work because its not flat on the bottom. Those two issues (the straps and the rounded bottom) are very frustrating. But for just using this soother on the crib, its great. I dread when it needs batteries though given what a hassle it is to remove from the crib rail!

 "Our nieces favorite toy" 2009-10-20
By Steve D (West Chester, PA)
This toy was an instant hit with our baby niece. She's always looking around at the different moving animals and the different soothing lights. The music keeps her attention and she loves to point and play with this toy. It is pretty heavy though so be sure to keep an eye out on how you're mounting this rainforest!
