The Royal Potty makes training more fun for your little prince or princess. The reward system is built right in -- music plays each time your child sits, then plays a royal fanfare with each success, thanks to the help of a special sensor. It can also be used on a "grownup" toilet seat -- simply remove the legs. To add to the fun, it comes with a storybook called "A Throne of Their Own." Bowl removes easily for cleaning. Deflector shield for boys included. Measures approximately 13.5" tall.

 "Works Beautifully!" 2007-11-12
By Tracie Trim (Dayton, OH USA)
I fortunately haven't had the problems many have had with this potty.

My son started playing with it at around a year old. He learned if he stepped it in it the music played. He just turned two a couple weeks ago and this past week decided to start potty training. He immediately took to the potty chair and is doing great.

He can get on and off easily on his own.

The splash guard works perfectly.

He can remove the basin on his own, although he does occassionally spill a little, but he's just two and would spill anything he's holding with liquid in it.

It is very easy to clean out.

The only complaint I have is that the music does not sound when he goes. It works fine if you put a toy in it or your foot (as he proved at a younger age), but not when he potties. But, it doesn't really matter. I don't think he'd be any more proud of himself if he received a fanfare.

Overall, I think this potty is terrific and would recommend it to anyone.

"Do Not Buy--Set potty training back" 2007-08-20
By L. Smarick
This potty was given to us by my mom who wanted to encourage our daughter. It had the exact opposite effect. The first time that she ever told us she had to use the potty she sat on this potty the music started and she cried. She wouldn't sit on another potty because she was scared! I have talked to other moms who have had similar experiences.

 "A Royal Pain" 2007-04-11
By Heather (Lancaster, PA)
I purchased this potty for my son. I thought that the "royal" turns would give him an interest in using it, it didn't. He used it once and cried! He would not sit on it again. I was very disappointed. The potty would sing for now reason sometimes and EVERY TIME you would touch it. I do not recommend.

 "Don't waste your money" 2007-03-01
By Anteater (Californa, USA)
I would recommend just buying one that sits on top of the toilet and a stepping stool. You don't have to clean #2 out of the cup and you'll probably already have a stepping stool so that your child can reach the sink. It really saves a lot of hastle

My mother-in-law and I both bought this potty for my daughter. (One for her house and one for mine.) It was hard for me to put together, my Mo-in-Law couldn't get it together at all.

It makes a loud trumpet sound every time "water" passes a sensor inside the toilet that scared my daughter terribly at first, but luckily it took a lot of batteries to work and it died.

The other thing I'd like to point out is if your child actually likes the noise and the batteries die, they are almost impossible to replace. In order to replace them you have to take almost the whole toilet apart, which again is very hard to put back together.

We got ours on sale so I don't mind the expenditure. When you are buying these things just remember it is only a toilet that they will be using for a year or so tops...

"Pee Guard is too easily folded or removed" 2009-11-13
By AFWife2002 (Alamogordo, NM)
My boys have never actually "used" this potty. However, I bought it and took it out of the package and both my twin boys loved it and were fighting over who would sit on it (while clothed)! However, they both can't stop playing with the pee guard (which is EASILY) removable. The pee guard also folds down very easily. So I can't imagine that it would do much good, if anything I think it would fall down and just make even more of a mess than without it. So I'm returning this one and going to try something else.

 "love it, great price" 2009-09-08

this seems to be the best one that I have searched around for, plus my daughter loves having her own potty, and when she goes she gets a little music to encourage her.

 "Dirty Royal Potty" 2009-07-05
By A. Jarrett
Great potty, arrived on time and non-damaged. However, it had been previously removed from its original packaging which was obvious due to the large dirt footprint on the lid. There was also dirt and grass inside the potty. It doesnt appear to have been used as a potty but someone definitely did do something with it. Since it was not damaged I didnt want the hassle of returning it but I am very disappointed in the seller and will not buy from them again.

 "Great potty chair" 2009-05-30
By Wowestgirl (Los Angeles, CA)
Bought this for my 20 mo old daughter and it has so far been a great chair to potty train her! The cup in front is removable (for girls) so I took it off. I love that the music sensor goes off when they have done the deed, what a great reward (in addition to a little sticker I give her myself ). In the case of other reviewers here that can't turn the music sensor off, there is a switch (at least on my model) that you can slide to the off position if you don't want it. If that doesn't work, taking the batteries out always seems to be a remedy :) We haven't detatched the seat yet for the regular toilet but we intend to when she gets more of a hang of the potty itself. Very happy with our purchase!

 "bad product" 2009-04-11
By Devin Blankenbiller (Philadelphia, PA)
I am so frustrated with this potty chair. It is designed to do too many "cool" things, and as a result does not perform it's main purpose very well at all - which is to be a potty chair. Please do not buy this UNLESS you would really like a stool for your child that can occasionally be used as a potty - NOT the other way around. The "pee shield" is terrible because it moves around way too easily, is not big enough to shield anything, pinches my sons' thighs, and pops right off w/ the slightest pull. It DOES NOT serve a purpose other than injuring your child. Also the white potty seat lifts off very easily. When my son moves around on the potty or stands up, the white part lifts off as well!! If you do close the lid to use as a stool, a child cannot move the stool very well because the while seat can lift off easily as mentioned above. Therefore, the chair comes apart when they try to pick it up to move it. I totally hate this chair and HIGHLY recommend buying a SIMPLE potty chair instead.
