I have three boys and the oldest got this when he was a year old. Barely played with it. Kid #2 never touched it. Kid #3 plays with it a little when his older brother plays with it with him. It's a rather large toy that doesn't do much. The blocks are fun - you'd be better off just getting the blocks.

My nephew (18m) has this toy and he loves it. When my daughter and I stayed w/ my sister for a visit she fell in love with it (10 1/2m -- now 11 1/2m) and within two weeks was sorting the shapes (mostly the circle, the others she could get after a while, but often it was a fluke) and learned how to push the head to get the shapes back out. Having an older cousin to watch certainly helped. She loves the music and the blocks and tries to attach the blocks together and really seems to be learning some basic motor skills from it. Her face lights up when she puts the circle in and claps for herself or her cousin when he puts them in. This toy entertains her for quite some time and will toddle or crawl to it when I ask her where the turtle is. She LOVES it. It's definately going to be a 1sth birthday present. I would recommend this toy.

My kids have had this toy for a year and a half, and neither one has played with it for more than three minutes. The younger one can't seem to get the blocks to stack up, and the older one isn't interested in it. In my opinion, you'd be better off buying the Fisher Price Peek A Blocks 2-in-1 Activity Wagon. It's a similar toy that my kids have played with and enjoyed much more.

when my son first got this he liked to play with the stacking blocks. he never played with it much and i never see him playing with it now. and he has had it for 2 years. his one year old sister has never showed any interest in it either. every time i put the blocks into the turtle i find them taken out but the turtle never moves. so a better bet would just be stacking blocks.

Our daughter is only 8 momths old, but she fell in love with this toy during a visit to our friends' house and loves playing with it at home now. It's too early for her to recognize which shares go where, but the light and music always puts a smile on her face and knocking the blocks from the top is evem more fun. :o)
