 "Entertaining" 2009-09-11
By Sunshine Waters
I bought a used one of these and it was in perfect condition. My 3 month old loves to kick and she wasn't quite sure about it at first. A few weeks into it she loves it. The only thing is that she can not see the things light up unless when she is lying flat on her back. We put her boppy under her to lift her up a little so she can actually see what is going on. Besides that -it was a great purchase.

"Great for "sippy cup time"" 2009-08-29
By Kymberlee Thompson (Nashville TN)
My son loved this toy, especially as some one said for mornings when he woke and played for a bit. The only problem is he is a roller and in the night he would bump it and it would come on. We now have tied to the play yard and he lays on the boppy and kicks it while he learns to drink from the sippy cup. ( he is 8 months now) Definitely gotten our $ worth.

"Kick & Learn is fun, but it's not $140 worth of fun" 2009-05-28
By Jim K. (Atlanta, GA United States)
We got the Kick & Learn as part of a package deal from somebody we bought a used car seat from back in 2004. It was probably two or three years old when we go it and it has been kicked, dropped, slapped and slobbered on since then without failure. It was not a big hit in the crib, but it did give the kid something to look at and listen to.

We've had a second baby since then and he's using it now that he's out of the crib. It makes a good floor activity toy. I would not, however, pay $140 for a new one. If you want one, I would suggest Craigslist or ebay.

"Still fun after 2 years!" 2008-11-22
By Ainsley's Mommy (Ohio)
I purchased this toy for five dollars at a yard sale back in 2006 and it is still going strong! My daughter played with it almost daily in her crib as a baby and now at 2 1/2 she still likes to go into the nursery (now being prepared for her new baby brother) and play with it. We had a few other crib toys which were pretty much ignored in favor of this one. So overall it's a great toy, HOWEVER I would NOT pay the exhorbitant price currently being asked for this on here. It's great, but not worth more than maybe twenty-five bucks at the most!

 "Great crib toy" 2006-12-20
By C. Wagner (Central PA)
I bought this for my son when he was about 6 months old and it is still in his crib a year later! He plays with it when he wakes up which is great because it intertains him before he screams. I hear it thru the monitor so I know he is up wihtout him ever having to cry. He loves the sounds and colors.

"What is the fuss about" 2006-05-14
By Shannon (NE)
This kick and play toy is not the exciting as it was said here the can't live without toy we were told it would be. The warning says that the toy must be removed from the crib when the child can sit up unassisted. Humm thats the age when they will have the most fun with it.... I think this was just one of those toys that eveyone jumped on the bandwagon on. My little girl seemed to wonder what what going on with this and why was she having to kick her legs, even when she did try she had to really kick supper hard to get the darn thing to even work. We had it all of one month and gave it to the Goodwill.

By New Mommy (Kansas City, MO)
My 4-month old loves to kick her legs and she gets such a thrill when she makes the sounds herself. I also use this with her tummy time boppy and she seems to forget she's doing tummy time because she is so engaged in the sounds she makes all by herself! I just love this toy!

 "Great for tummy time" 2006-02-03
By Karen (APO, AP USA)
I bought this when my son was 5 months old. My son loves it. He never kicks it. He likes to push the keys with his hands. I use a lot during tummy time. It helped him stay on his stomach longer. I also hang it in his crib. Usually, I'll find him trying to push the keys when he's awake.

 "Kicked like crazy" 2009-11-30
By Theresa Ashkar (Miami)
The product was just as I had expected. The baby, 4 months old, kicked the heck out of it. He has made his way down to the end of the crib in the middle of the night to play. I would suggest turning it off at nightime if you want to get some rest.

The only drawback I found was the volumn could be a little stronger it is too low for my liking.

 "Daddy loves it!" 2009-04-24
By Melissa D. Dunham (knoxville, TN)
This is a great little piano. I love the cute cow design. Daddy loves playing songs on it( So does mommy) My twins love playing with it and eating the little stick. I so agree I wish the string was a bit longer but this is a great toy.

Don't spend $55 on this thing though. That is insane. I found mine at a consignment sale for $5

"Just what we were looking for!" 2009-01-17
By Patricia Kerins
There are a lot of different choices why it comes to xylophones, but we wanted one that not only came with the stick, but where you press the keys too. This was it! It's cute and the notes are right on. The only problem is the string is VERY short (I know, for safety issues, but this is rediculous!) A great product though!

"A fun toy and not too loud.." 2008-12-16
By Rachel G. (California)
My daughter is 12 months old and got this as a gift. It is cute and not too loud. Our only complaint is the short cord on the stick but I suppose that is a safety issue. It is quite heavy so don't let your little one throw it or drop it on a toe!

 "my 1-yr old isn't that interested" 2008-08-20
By Yan Gai (Ne York, NY USA)
The recommended age is > 2 yr old. Well, like many parents, I also couldn't help buying it a little bit earlier. My 1 yr old banged on the piano keys occasionally, but would lose his interest in a minute. He doesn't like watching me playing it either. He will probably start liking it when he is older. I also wish that there were more keys (I learned piano 10 years ago and found this one very difficult to make any complete songs, of course). But one thing I really like is the piano option. It makes the toy much better than other xylophones. So if you are determined to buy one, buy this one!

Our 18 month old twins have this and the caterpillar one. Both are fun but the string could be a little bit longer. I love that it has the piano and xylophone.

 "Great Developmental Toy!" 2009-09-17
By Book Worm (oregon)
Im not sure why so many people are complaining.

Yes there is a bit of a learning curve AT first. But everything is a learning curve for a baby.

It took about a week for my daughter (3 months at the time) to roll it fast enough to make noise. Shes 8 months now and runs up to it and bats at it with glee.

And to whom ever said the notes were off. You need to try them out at the store. Not all of them are in tune. I think it has something to do with the different widths of metal.

But with that said its a fairly cheap toy ( i think i payed 14 dollars at walmart), what do you expect? Its still great quality though.

I've since then, purchased three more for other babies and only heard great reviews back.

"Love the baby grand piano." 2009-10-17
By Jessica Jones (Ohio)
This piano is great. As others have mentioned, there are multiple different modes for your child to play in. One is music mode, in which the piano plays different songs when the keys are pressed, and as the song plays the keys light up in the order they should be played. I'm pretty sure it'll be a long time until my son (only 6 months old right now) will appreciate this feature, but I think it's pretty neat that it actually teaches the song. The songs are also written out on the pages that the child can turn, which is nice too. The second mode is learning mode, in which the child can press the keys to hear the number on the key (1-8), the color of the key, and a woman singing. You have to turn the pages in order to switch between these three options in the learning mode, which took me a minute to figure out since I bought it used and didn't have directions or anything. The third mode simply allows the baby to press the keys and play. I agree with others, the sound the keys make when they are pressed is much nicer than others I have heard, especially the one I had as a child. However, I find the woman's singing voice pretty annoying, so I rarely set it to singing mode. Of course my child doesn't mind it, so I shouldn't complain too much. Overall, it's a great product, and my son loves to sit and press the buttons. I have a feeling that he will enjoy it even more when he is able to appreciate the other features it has to offer, as well as walk around it and play with the little toys on the back. Highly recommend it!

"Would've loved the toy...if it hadn't been broken the 2 times I ordered it!" 2009-10-08
By Eb's Mama (Bradford, MA United States)
I ordered this toy twice from Target and both times it didn't work properly. I'm not sure if this toy if other people have had this problem or not. I wouldn't reccommend buying it from Target. They have awful customer service and were very unfriendly when dealing with the returns. Maybe I'll try buying it from somewhere else and see if I can get one that works.

 "Satisfied mom" 2009-06-28
By Deborah L. Davitt (Houston, TX)
We got this for our son when he was 6 months old--a little younger than it recommends, but he's enjoyed it every day since it arrived in the mail. At first, we either sat behind him, or propped him up so he could sit at it on his own. It was the very first item he pulled himself up on (note that it's not a heavy item, and wobbly babies *can* pull it over on themselves). I compensated for this by simply propping my feet on it, until he was better able to pull up on his own.

The three play modes--music, individual notes/free play, and learning--provide him with a great deal of variety, so we can "reset" his interest in the piano as we go along. He's gone through a number of phases in terms of how he plays with the piano, from wildly flailing at the keys to carefully walking around it to press and turn the buttons at the back. Since it has kept his attention very well from 6 months to 11 months, I fully anticipate it continuing to do so as he grows.

 "Highly recommended" 2009-06-21
By Jaime A. Canales (USA)
Very good interactive toy, my son loves it. It will make your son to play with songs; however, this is not an actual piano. If you want a musical toy, this is great (I would also recommend the Mozart Musical cube, also here in Amazon). However, if you are looking for a piano with a real piano keyboard to introduce your baby to this instrument, there are probably better options depending on the age.
