"my son can flip this rocker and get out of it" 2010-07-11
By J. Muniz (Long Island ,NY)
MY son is now 10 months a crawler not yet walking starting to cruise a bit, had I writen this review a month or 2 ago I would have rated it 5 stars.Up until now it has been great it's light weight, foldable for travel,confy,multi-positions make it mulit purpose, washable was a huge plus since my son not only naps in this chair but we feed him in it also.

When he developed the abdominal strength to sit himself up I had to be very careful that when ever he woke from his nap, I would have to extend the front feet so he didn't toppel foward.i would fold the feet in, when he napped b/c you can't really rock well when they are extended.Once while I was feeding him he did toppel foward but I caught him just in time.Picture a baby sitting up in this chair indian style he then leans so foward in an attempt to touch the ground infront of the chair b/c his legs were folded they just got free of the waiste straps.A few moments later when i went to drop the bowl and spoon in the sink, he did topple foward, the chair ended up on top of him, he was face first on our hardwood floors I think b/c the one foot was not fully extended.

Then last week he figured out how to manuver himself backwards, bend his leg at the knee and work his way out of the seat. My husband tighten the waist straps and again I thought he isn't getting out now. Well I go to open the back door for the dog in the next room and he moved back, leaned over the side and kicked his legs free of the waiste strap which at this point was around his ankles, he ended up on his hands and knees next to the rocker.Long story short it needs to have a 5point harness for when the child reaches this age.We now keep the umbrella stroller with a 5 point harness in the living room to replace the chair since I can rock him,it reclines and is confy spot for when I need him to not be mobile. When he is older walking and can get in and out without help we will probably be able to use it again. I was surprised, Im the only one with the issue with all of the reviews, my son not "Whodini"

AT EVERY TURN MY SON FIGURED A WAY OUT OF THIS CHAIR IN SECONDS!!!

 "good for price!!" 2010-07-11
By Joy A. Mckague
This is a great seat for a six month old...because it sits them UP more than a reg bouncer. I even fed my son his first solids in the chair. Because the other seats (Bumbo) sit him straight up and made it uncomfortable on his belly and neck. So, all and all I would say yes this seat is nice to have. To use it as a rocker is a joke...

"Very dissapointed, you cannot rock that thing at all and more..." 2010-06-05
By J. Kaminski (Florida)
Like I said in my title, rocking movement is extremely limited. I have one of these wire bouncers and they're way better than this. The other thing is the attachment with toys. Who ever designed that, didn't have the slightest idea what he/she was doing. To take that thing off requires a substantial amount of force, but you have to be careful and not to brake that snapping plastic. Now, when you take this thing finally off and when you put it back on, it makes very loud noise snapping in place, that it scares the babe.

 "This Rocker Rocks!!!!" 2010-05-25
By CarlaVeg
No kidding, my baby absolutely loves this rocker/chair. Why? because she sleeps very comfortable in it. She is currently 2 months old and doesn't like to sleep flat on her back on her bassinet. She has been sleeping on this chair since she was 3 weeks old!!! I love the fact that it's portable. We take it downstairs during the day and into our bedroom at night!!!! I also love the colors, they are bright and fun!!!

"Buy this...(NOT THE OLDER ONE)" 2010-05-19
By patricia veillet
I have this item and it is awesome my son is 4 months old and he loves it...anyone who tells u the older version is better is WRONG...my sister has the metal one and her son is two and took the screws out of it and now it is broken (if a two yr old can take screws out of something with his bare hands its prob not a good thing) this one has the move away bar so u can take the baby out easier its has legs that can stop the rocking and also can be raised to make it sit back farther or up...i use this seat to feed my son it makes it so much easier to spoon feed a starting out child...it vibrates and can strap him in...my son takes his naps and watches tv in this seat it is a GREAT buy i deffinatly reccomend it to EVERYONE!!!

 "Didn't use it much" 2010-01-26

My baby is 4 months now and she didn't really use this swing much. I would rather spend the $100 on something else.

It is a good product.

It's useful, but the swing is too slow. It would also be better if it had a recliner.

The Newborn to Toddler Portable Rocker starts as a newborn seat or rocker with a low-profile position for a safe place to put newborns. With the softgoods recline, mom or dad can position baby for sleeping or for play. A removable toy bar arm provides two repositionable toys to entertain baby - a musical puppy and a kitty with a spinning ball of yarn. Both reward baby for bat-at play. There is even a cute birdie that stands on a biscuit on the side of the rocker and detaches for take-along play.

As baby becomes a toddler, the toy arm can be removed and the rocker supports extend to a higher position, allowing toddlers to have both a stationary seat and a rocker.  "This is a MUST HAVE!!!!!!!" 2009-11-26
By Kristina D. Davis
We got the Fisher-Price Newborn-to-Toddler Rocker for a baby gift. We have gotten out money out of it!!!!!!!!!! We used it all the time when our daughter was an infant because she loved the vibrating chair. Then she got board of it so we put it away. We got it back out about a couple of months ago. Now she is 14 months old and LOVES sitting in her chair!!!!! She takes her toys and sits in it for hours!!!! This is a must have and you will get your money worth!

"LOVED IT! MOST ESSENTIAL ITEM FOR US!" 2009-11-22
By Kelly Field (Carlisle, PA)
This was one of those extra little things I just added to my registry, but I am SOOOOO HAPPY I did. It is so versatile in setting positions, and is so light and easy to fold up and carry around. My son slept in this often at home and when we would go visit family and friends. This worked well for that until he was like 1 1/2 and now he still likes to sit in it to watch Sesame Street. We didn't use the vibrate feature too often, but in the two years we've had it I only remember changeing the batteries one time (and that was simple). I would definately recommend!

 "so so" 2009-07-22
By SM (USA)
I got this as a gift at my baby shower ( bought from my baby registry)

My 2 month old son seems to like the vibration feature. It's not his fav chair though, he prefers the swing. He stays in this chair for 5 minutes max before he yells to get out.

The music in this is POOR, VERY VERY POOR!!!! It sounds like cheap crap and I am disappointed cause I had really expected more.It is the same quality that you will hear from a musical card when you open it. I think they were trying to play twinkle twinkle little star but the notes were off in some areas.

The rainforest swing on the other hand sounds very good.

I will NOT recommend, sorry.

"Because baby will need a place to sit/nap while mommy/daddy are doing housework" 2009-05-04
By SF Mommy (CA)
I received this for our baby shower and boy, it has been useful. We unpacked it the day after our baby arrived home, and we have been using it daily ever since. Sure, the Svan chair is super adorable and hip- but the weight limit on this one is higher than the Svan, and the cat & dog toy thingy is just too cute.

At first, baby had no idea what the dog and cat were, but finally he is developed enough to be able to reach for them and make the chime run. So cute.

We have been using it since Day One of our baby's arrival, and am so pleased to have gotten this for our shower. At 5 months and 22 pounds, we have a big little guy, but so far it has continued to be quite useful. I'm not sure about the claims that it will help baby poo, but it certainly keeps him busy if you need to do the dishes or make dinner!

Minus one star, because it is ridiculously difficult to clean and I pretty much just leave a blanket underneath him, should baby have a power poo accident whilst seated/napping.

 "useless" 2009-11-18
By Me Myself & I
I do not understand the many stars this product is getting. It is not safe for any age.

1. Infants: it promotes torticolis and plagiocephaly

2. Babies just starting to sit up: unsafe because of falling forward

3. Older babies: too flimsy to be safe

The pictures of babies sleeping in this product are very deceiving and should be removed. Never put your baby to sleep in this, unless you want to deal with torticolis and plagiocephaly later on. Please do not put your baby for any longer than a few minutes in this...

 "Excellent for all ages!" 2009-11-13
By C. Baez (Dominican Republic)
This chair has been passed on from cousin to cousin in my husband's family. The children (2-3) are always trying to get the chair before the others can take it from them. All of them have been in that chair since they were newborns and they still use it all the time to sit around and watch tv. There haven't been any accidents at all... and there have been at least 4 different babies using it.

"Great product for it's price" 2009-11-12
By Daniel V. Mata (Italy)
My son loves this however he is 8 months, and he can turn around in the chair while he is strapped in. So you just have to be careful and be in the room with him at all times. Otherwise it is great. My oldest, who is 5 years old, likes to push his brother around in the chair. We have tiled floor everywhere within the house. It becomes a game to them. ;)

"Great and will grow with them" 2009-10-22
By Brandie Fuller
I bought this based on the ability to use for more than the first year. As a BTDT mom I did not want something I would not use after the first year max. I know this is the last baby, so no reason to keep. I like that it says weight limit of 40 pounds when it goes to the rocker chair, my 8 year is only 50, so I am thinking I will get close to 7 years at least out of this thing. She loves it already.
