"Wow wow! There's soap coming out of my face!" 2010-01-21
By Armando N. Roman (Hillsboro, OR)
You know, this is the kind of toy that's really fun to play with as long as you ignore the main selling point. This Wubbzy is great for baths, obviously. The material is nice, he doesn't sink, and your child will most likely always have fun in the bath when playing with it. But the key feature here is that when you put some shampoo on Wubbzy's head, then squeeze his tummy, the top of his head is supposed to get all bubbly. That...doesn't quite happen. Not very often anyway. In the year that my daughter's had this toy, I've seen him bubble properly maybe 5 times. The other times, bubbles came out of his nose, mouth, ears, the sides of his head, etc. Not that I have any problems with it, and my daughter doesn't either, but you know how some parents are- flipping out when something doesn't work exactly as advertised.

In fact, if my daughter were reviewing this, she'd probably give it 4 or 5 stars overall because she's always had fun playing with Wubbzy, be it in the bath or pool. But I have to take off a star because within a few weeks, one of his arms started to sag, and now he has a gimp arm. If you move him to the side a little fast, it'll look like he's slapping someone. The tail and legs are still great, but the arm went. 'kinda weird huh? My daughter says "Wubbzy has a big boo-boo" now when she notices it.

Soapity Suds Wubbzy is also machine washable, and doesn't feel different or lose any color afterwards. The pump in his stomach that shoots air through his head stays in-tact too, so I don't think this thing will be breaking for you any time soon. For the price, it's a good plush-like Wubbzy toy that your child will love if they watch the show, and don't care for the electronic ones. Or if you just don't want to hear it talk constantly I mean.

My grandaughter just loved this Wubzy. She is only 2 1/2 so she prefers to play with it out of the tub.

 "Kind of Freaky....." 2009-07-16
By Robia G. Pautler (Houston, TX United States)
We bought this for our 2 year old who just adores Wubbzy....We got ready for her bath, we added the soap per instructions, and bubbles came out of Wubbzy's head, eyes, nose, mouth....it was kind of horrific. Now had it made a delightful bubble wig as described, we would have been happy but in reality, Wubbzy looked infected with a weepy, bubbly kind of disease.

We tried to find some redeeming qualities in the toy....however, Wubbzy has a hard casing inside so is not that cuddly either. Other than that, Wubbzy is, as always, cute to look at.

However, this is not worth the money.

"Dora suds my little girl likes it" 2009-11-24
By R. Cantu (Houston, TX United States)
the product is good, it looks durable and sturdy. it is made to be used in the tub and outside but the water gets inside and then it can get messy when playing with it outside the tub. plus the hair, once wet and then dries it looks greasy it is not as fresh as it was before it being wet. all in all we like it. I do not see much educational value in it except the company at bath time. and yes I would recommend it

 "balding and bathing dora" 2009-10-30
By Stoney (Greenville, SC)
My daughter was dissapointed with her purchase of this toy. Without the tray it just sits at the bottom of the bathtub, and the supposed makeup changes are very faint. The biggest suprise was the amount of hair that come out after one use. Outside the tub seems to have better results as the heat of the water causes it to stay changed. I would have returned it for her but the packaging was destroyed from all of the tape and twist ties. This is not a good investment for the thirty-two dollars in price.

"Creeps Mom out, but kids love it!" 2009-10-25
By Margaret S., Kaminski (Illinois)
I refused to buy only 1/2 a Dora, but my daughter begged her favorite Aunt and got it for her birthday. This doll is super creepy! I've scared the crap out of myself more then once when I've seen her lying in the bathtub head down. Also, she doesn't float which was kind of disappointing. The thing is, my 4 year old daughter is absolutely in love with this thing. She loves washing Dora's hair and putting on her pretend makeup. It has made up hours of bath time fun. So, I guess Super Creepy Suds Surprise Dora is worth the money, Just make sure you throw a towel over her head at night so Dora doesn't surprise you!

 "Fun Toy!" 2009-01-06
By Robert F. Gordon (Oklahoma)
Fun toy for my 4 yr old grand daughter. Must remember to wash once in awhile so water and bubbles dont build up and let her hair dry. Little pieces might want to be took out of the bath for later play. Not for long term use I believe but for now it is doning the job of a great bath toy.

 "Here's Dora Meets Chucky" 2008-05-16
By Kat @ FantasyLiterature.com
My husband bought Suds and Surprise Dora for our 5 and 2 year old daughters. Dora does successfully attach to the tub, the refrigerator, the windows, and anywhere else they put her. They enjoyed playing with Dora's hair a few times, but now we use Dora differently at my house because...Surprise Dora is incredibly CREEPY.

Her hair looks great in the picture, but in reality it is coarse, messy, uneven, and it falls out in clumps. Worse, it looks like she ran into Chucky because she's missing her lower body. She's not "anatomically correct, ya' know".

This top half (with its baldspots) pops up unexpectedly in different areas of my house. Usually, it's the bathtub, and it's very upsetting when I walk into the bathroom, flip on the light, and see her laying on the bottom of the tub. I have literally jumped and yelped as my brain tried to process the visualization. Several times I have thought for a moment that the body laying in the tub is my 2 year old who is about the same size (except she has two halves) and has the same color, style, and length of hair (without the bald spots). Half-Dora also shows up "sitting" on top of counters and in other places that creep me out.

I'd like to mention that none of the other dolls we have cause nightmares and that my husband gets freaked about Chucky-Dora, too. In fact, we now enjoy using her to try to scare each other. Last week, he put Saran wrap over the toilet seat and placed Chucky-Dora on top. So I hung her from a belt in his closet.
