"My son choked on this toy and needed an ambulance!" 2010-01-14
By Susan L. Garza (Davison, MI, US)
We called an ambulance for our 20 month old on 1/11/10, and I don't want it to happen to anyone else! My son has an Elmo Peek and See See n Say toy. We bought it for Christmas, 2009, so it's less than a month old. It is recommended for his age. That morning, he put the round piece in his mouth and it stuck. I couldn't get it out. I called an ambulance and they couldn't get it out. Thankfully the piece had holes in it and he could draw a breath. However, my fear was that he would vomit, and he would no longer be able to breathe. The holes we also quickly clogging up as my child was hysterical and panicked. On the way to the hospital, in the ambulance, we were finally able to get it out. Later that night, I checked the size of all the shape pieces by putting them through a toilet paper roll (which I've been told is a way to measure if something is a choking hazard). ALL of the pieces, except the star, fit through easily. I have reported it to Fisher Price (who offered a refund and basically told me that my son "most likely wouldn't have choked"). I just got done writing up a report to the Consumer's Product Safety Commision. We were very very lucky. This toy is NOT safe at all!

 "elmo peek & seek" 2009-08-24
By Linda Chavez (bklyn, ny)
I bought this see n say elmo peek & seek for my 21 month old grandson. The pieces you see are not the ones that come with this toy. They are really small. They fit into a toilet paper role. My grandson put one of the pieces in his mouth and could not get it out. It took us quite some time to get it out. PLEASE, do not buy this toy. Called matel and they told me to send it back and they will reimburse me the money. That is not the problem. This toy should not be sold to children. It is dangerous.

Ordered it a while ago but my son didn't really start paying any attention to it until he was about 14-15 months old. It doesn't hold his attention very long but I think it's educational.

I bought this for my grand daughter 4 years ago when she was almost 2. It has become a favorite each Christmas when we unpack it. Still running strong. It amazed her as a baby, still brings smiles to her and her sister.

 "Great toy!" 2010-01-07
By L. Rotondo (Boston, MA)
My daughter hated her tubby time for a while. Not sure if it was this toy that did it (most likely, not)....but now she is enjoying her bath, and she especially loves the squirt toys that come in this set. She loves the comb, and we use the alligator as her hair rinse cup. The only reason I gave this a 4 rather than 5 stars is because the mirror always has a film over it, no matter what I do to clean it. But she can still see herself...and again the toys that come with it are fantastic. I also like the mesh bag to hold all the toys. Just wish it was a bit bigger.
