It can also be used on a "grownup" toilet seat -- simply remove the legs. To add to the fun, it comes with a storybook called "A Throne of Their Own." Bowl removes easily for cleaning.  "Works Beautifully!" 2007-11-12
By Tracie Trim (Dayton, OH USA)
I fortunately haven't had the problems many have had with this potty.

My son started playing with it at around a year old. He learned if he stepped it in it the music played. He just turned two a couple weeks ago and this past week decided to start potty training. He immediately took to the potty chair and is doing great.

He can get on and off easily on his own.

The splash guard works perfectly.

He can remove the basin on his own, although he does occassionally spill a little, but he's just two and would spill anything he's holding with liquid in it.

It is very easy to clean out.

The only complaint I have is that the music does not sound when he goes. It works fine if you put a toy in it or your foot (as he proved at a younger age), but not when he potties. But, it doesn't really matter. I don't think he'd be any more proud of himself if he received a fanfare.

Overall, I think this potty is terrific and would recommend it to anyone.

By L. Smarick
This potty was given to us by my mom who wanted to encourage our daughter. It had the exact opposite effect. The first time that she ever told us she had to use the potty she sat on this potty the music started and she cried. She wouldn't sit on another potty because she was scared! I have talked to other moms who have had similar experiences.

 "A Royal Pain" 2007-04-11
By Heather (Lancaster, PA)
I purchased this potty for my son. I thought that the "royal" turns would give him an interest in using it, it didn't. He used it once and cried! He would not sit on it again. I was very disappointed. The potty would sing for now reason sometimes and EVERY TIME you would touch it. I do not recommend.

 "Don't waste your money" 2007-03-01
By Anteater (Californa, USA)
I would recommend just buying one that sits on top of the toilet and a stepping stool. You don't have to clean #2 out of the cup and you'll probably already have a stepping stool so that your child can reach the sink. It really saves a lot of hastle

My mother-in-law and I both bought this potty for my daughter. (One for her house and one for mine.) It was hard for me to put together, my Mo-in-Law couldn't get it together at all.

It makes a loud trumpet sound every time "water" passes a sensor inside the toilet that scared my daughter terribly at first, but luckily it took a lot of batteries to work and it died.

The other thing I'd like to point out is if your child actually likes the noise and the batteries die, they are almost impossible to replace. In order to replace them you have to take almost the whole toilet apart, which again is very hard to put back together.

We got ours on sale so I don't mind the expenditure. When you are buying these things just remember it is only a toilet that they will be using for a year or so tops...

 "PERFECT" 2010-05-27
By SeattleMom
I LOVE this potty ring!! It is the perfect fit for our toilet seats, doesn't move around on the seat as it clicks into place, and angles my son (3.5 years old) just right so that the pee guard works perfectly while not hitting him or rubbing up against him like other guards. And it's super cute!! Definitely a winner.

This potty ring is great (and cute!). We have a higher priced one at home (this one is for grandma's), but had this been available prior to that purchase I may have picked this one up for home as well. My son likes it, I like that it doesn't move around and the splash guard works well too! It has two moveable feet to adjust to potty size. It does "snap" into place for a tight fit. I like the hard plastic, one piece design as those cushy seats are just a pain to keep sanitary/clean.

"Adorable, good height, easy to clean, affordable!!" 2010-05-13
By Mom of 2: Wyatt , my son in Heaven & Danika, my daughter on earth. (St. Louis, MO)
So I narrowed the potty choices down to 3 different potties. Fisher Price Princess Potty, Fisher Price Cheer For Me Potty, and the Fisher Price Frog Potty. I went to a local Walmart store and found all 3. The Princess Potty was already open so I was able to set it up on the floor to see how big it was and even let my 2 and a half year old daughter sit on it. It was great, cute, and my daughter liked it, but I already have a potty that sits on the big potty and already have a step stool so I really didn't need that one, plus the basin/bucket to hold the contents is VERY small. I loved the height of this potty and that it was fairly lightweight yet sturdy and that the back rest actually stayed up. The Cheer For Me Potty was about the same as the Princess Potty but with more bells and whistles (toilet paper holder, flusher, etc) and also more than twice the price of the frog potty and about 10 bucks more than the Princess Potty.

I really didn't need all the enticement to go potty since she's been peeing/pooping on the big potty and on her Fisher Price On the Go travel potty for about a year now. The reason I was looking for another potty was to keep her out of the bathroom after my bathroom had been "T.P.'d" several times, and now that she is used to her travel potty (which we LOVE by the way) and it was a little too difficult for every day use (GREAT for travel/outings tho), I want to keep it in the car. Months and months ago, she had seen the frog potty and was very upset when we didn't leave with it. I thought it was geared more towards younger babies so I didn't even look twice at it, well, maybe I did, but for the oh so cute factor!!

I'm picky about potties - I want it to be easy to clean. Frog Potty IS very easy to dump out (just lift it off and dump, that's it) and clean. One huge issue I kept seeing in other potties was that the basin/bucket would be flush with the surrounding seat so if a little rogue urine got on the seat part, it could get elsewhere through the crack between basin/seat. Even the ones wit ha seat top completely over the basin, urine can still get under the seat, meaning more to clean. I wanted a seat that wouldn't do that. The Frog Potty is one piece on the top with a built in urine guard. Any spraying pee will only get on that one piece. My 2.5 year old daughter has only had this potty 2 days now and she already lifted it up after using it, carried it carefully to the bathroom, was even able to lift the toilet lid on her own, and dump the contents in, all by herself!

The bucket/basin part of this potty is large enough for all kids urine, however, I wonder if it could fit a fairly decent sized poopie without hitting the bottom before it's out of the kids' hiney. So far, this hasn't been a problem, but I did figure out a trick if that were a problem! If you lift out the pink (or blue) basin, there is nothing underneath - therefore, to extend the life of this potty, you could easily fit a 1 gallon ice cream bucket underneath the frog and it perfectly fits around the hole that the basin sits in. (and kiddo should still be comfy on the potty even without the pink/blue basin insert) Yay! Yes, You'd have to clean the inside ring of the frog potty, but it's so simply designed that it would be very easy! And still easy to clean - lift up the frog, grab bucket, dump, and clean - woohoo!

This frog stays put and is very sturdy - I can see that it might slide around a little on hardwood/tile/linoleum, but get some grippies for the bottom or just toss a rug under it and it's perfect!

The backrest is a great height.

My 2.5 year old daughter is 35 1/4 inches tall and weighs 29 pounds and while this potty is lower than some, she's still very comfortable on it. (See picture)

The Pink/green version's colors are a lot more subtle than the Blue/green version where the green is a vibrant green. The pink/green version's green is more of a spring green. Both are pretty and I had a hard time deciding which color!!

So far, we love the simplicity, cute factor, and comfort at a fraction of the price of other potties!!!

"Easy to clean and use!! Perfect for our boy" 2010-05-11
By B. Lewis (San Jose, CA)
I bought this potty after having problems with the one we were using. We have another potty with all kinds of features, but the pee shield for boys on that one detaches and our son kept playing with it. Pretty soon that shield would just pop off as soon as he tried to sit down, and there was pee on it and all over. I wanted to find a potty that wouldn't have this issue, and this one seemed like a good one to try. Our son loves it, and I think it's the perfect solution. I love the Fisher-Price precious planet potty more than the other seat with all the extras because this one is so easy to clean and use. My son has no problem getting on and off it, and enjoys using it. (He's on the short side, too - only 33" tall with short legs.) I LOVE the one-piece seat/bowl/shield because it is absolutely a breeze to clean up and there's no chance of having any spray issues. My son loves the cute froggy design.

Seriously, why spend more on extra features that just add more hassles? This one is fun, functional, and easy to use. I love it, my son loves it, and I think especially for boys it's an awesome design.

 "it's cute..." 2010-04-30
By A. Boyd (Tucson)
I got this for my son when he turned 1... mostly because he liked it (even though he had no idea what it was...). He's been sitting on it a couple times a day, but when he gets up he tends to take the whole 'bowl' part with him. He also has a little trouble getting on the potty by himself. I think I'll have to get something that will work better for a smaller kid for a while :) When a friend's 3-year-old used it, she liked it, and thankfully she was tall and skinny enough that the bowl didn't come off when she was done!

 "A DREAM COME TRUE!!!" 2010-04-20
By J. Lebria (New Jersey)
After reading the reviews of many potty seats, I decided to buy this frog potty. My son is a big 2 year old and wouldn't fit on just any potty. He is over 38 1/2 inches tall and weighs about 37 pounds. This potty is simply perfect. It is easy for him to sit on as well as not worry about any splashes on the floor. The eyes on the frog are high enough to cover any mistakes a boy may normally have on a standard potty. He even told grandma that she must get a frog for her house. Within a week or so of having the frog in our home, he is already going on his own to the potty. Thanks again for making my potty training days a whole lot easier!!!

My girls like this potty and so do I. It is easy to keep clean. It's cheap. It's cute. It's green, though the green is different on the pink and blue models so if you buy both they won't match. The issue of the front causing kids to spread their legs too far is simply a little challenge that my girls mastered on the first day--no big deal.

 "Doesn't get any better!!!" 2010-02-16
By Mom of 2: Wyatt , my son in Heaven & Danika, my daughter on earth. (St. Louis, MO)
We've had this travel potty for a couple months now for our 27 month old daughter. We've been using it as a potty training tool, letting her stuffed animals use this travel potty while she was sitting on the big potty (with the Primo Ducka seat, which we LOVE!).

We brought it out to the living room in her play area. She LOVES it and will sit on it for many many minutes, even going to it on her own, so I'm guessing it's pretty comfy! She likes that it is lower to the ground so she can sit on the potty and still play with her cars. She is about 36 inches tall and weighs 28 pounds, her feet rest comfortably on the floor while sitting on it. She has used it several times now without a problem.

VERY sturdy. I was concerned about only 3 legs, but it's very steady. Make sure the legs all *click* into place before using it.

EASY to set up! Easy to change the bag - Just lift up the white seat, arrange a new bag, and pop the white seat back on.

Extremely portable and lightweight in the carrying case. The case is very nice! You'd never know there was a potty in there!! Fits in the stroller basket of the large carseat stroller systems, and lightweight enough to put over the handles of an umbrella stroller. I've read other reviews stating there isn't enough space in the case for other items - I have not had that problem at all!!! I still have the original bags and pads it came with, plus I've added 4 more plastic Target bags, 4 folded paper towels, a soft pack of travel wipes, a travel bottle of hand sanitizer, and I can fit more in there, such as a pair of panties and possibly a thin pair of emergency pants. Plus, the messenger style flap has an adjustable strap/clasp.

Plastic grocery bags and a couple pieces of folded up paper towels inside work great. Haven't tested out the pads yet, but they are similar to pads used by breastfeeding women. I have also found that the "Blink Trash Tossers" trash bags for your vehicle (Walmart) fit VERY well. The opening of the trash bag is a little small/exact same size as the seat opening, but I got it to work. Plus, a lot less bulk than plastic grocery bags, so you can fit a bunch of them in the carry case.

To entice our daughter to use it, we did have to put some reusable (not regular) Dora stickers on it.

We have not used this potty out of our house yet, but I will be bringing it on a road trip from St. Louis to North Dakota. This is the first trip while potty training.

I plan to bring this potty on our weekly trips to the Zoo this summer and hope she will find it comfortable to use while out and about. I'm also very excited to be able to bring this on camping trips that we plan to take this summer!

I found this on the Kohl's website for much less expensive! It might have been on sale.

 "LOVE this potty!" 2009-09-10
By N. Park (San Jose, CA)
We put this potty in the back of our minivan and my daughter uses it wherever we go. The only drawback is that I haven't found any garbage bags that are as durable as the ones that come with the potty. After we used all of those, I bought regular Hefty 4 gallon bags and the first one leaked when my daughter peed in it, so now I put in 3 bags at a time to make sure everything stays in the bag. Otherwise, excellent potty, definitely a lifesaver on the road!

"Pee Guard is too easily folded or removed" 2009-11-13
By AFWife2002 (Alamogordo, NM)
My boys have never actually "used" this potty. However, I bought it and took it out of the package and both my twin boys loved it and were fighting over who would sit on it (while clothed)! However, they both can't stop playing with the pee guard (which is EASILY) removable. The pee guard also folds down very easily. So I can't imagine that it would do much good, if anything I think it would fall down and just make even more of a mess than without it. So I'm returning this one and going to try something else.

Great potty, arrived on time and non-damaged. However, it had been previously removed from its original packaging which was obvious due to the large dirt footprint on the lid. There was also dirt and grass inside the potty. It doesnt appear to have been used as a potty but someone definitely did do something with it. Since it was not damaged I didnt want the hassle of returning it but I am very disappointed in the seller and will not buy from them again.

 "Great potty chair" 2009-05-30
By Wowestgirl (Los Angeles, CA)
Bought this for my 20 mo old daughter and it has so far been a great chair to potty train her! The cup in front is removable (for girls) so I took it off. I love that the music sensor goes off when they have done the deed, what a great reward (in addition to a little sticker I give her myself ). In the case of other reviewers here that can't turn the music sensor off, there is a switch (at least on my model) that you can slide to the off position if you don't want it. If that doesn't work, taking the batteries out always seems to be a remedy :) We haven't detatched the seat yet for the regular toilet but we intend to when she gets more of a hang of the potty itself. Very happy with our purchase!

 "bad product" 2009-04-11
By Devin Blankenbiller (Philadelphia, PA)
I am so frustrated with this potty chair. It is designed to do too many "cool" things, and as a result does not perform it's main purpose very well at all - which is to be a potty chair. Please do not buy this UNLESS you would really like a stool for your child that can occasionally be used as a potty - NOT the other way around. The "pee shield" is terrible because it moves around way too easily, is not big enough to shield anything, pinches my sons' thighs, and pops right off w/ the slightest pull. It DOES NOT serve a purpose other than injuring your child. Also the white potty seat lifts off very easily. When my son moves around on the potty or stands up, the white part lifts off as well!! If you do close the lid to use as a stool, a child cannot move the stool very well because the while seat can lift off easily as mentioned above. Therefore, the chair comes apart when they try to pick it up to move it. I totally hate this chair and HIGHLY recommend buying a SIMPLE potty chair instead.
