My daughter got this toy before she was born. I started using it about 6 wks and she loved it. It was really good to get her to turn her head or pick it up during tummy time. At 7 months she still loves it. I would reccommend this toy to anyone.

 "Noisy, but highly entertaining!" 2007-07-13
By Mental Mommy (Portsmouth, VA United States)
We got this for our son when he was 18 months old. He loved pulling it around and dropping blocks into it, but it was a bit noisy. It has two volume settings, which is nice, but as soon as the wheels roll, it starts to "pop" the blocks and the pop is incredibly loud. The music and sound effects didn't bother my husband and I nearly as much as the popping sound!

The dropping of the blocks did seem to help develop my son's finer motor skills, but other than that, I didn't see much of an educational value. For the price, we thought it was a good toy. It kept our son busy and you can use it with any of the peek-a-blocks.

 "Great Pull Toy!" 2006-01-05
By Maggie Doodle (Mt. Juliet, Tn. United States)
We were looking for a pull toy for our 7 month old son, and this one is great! There are things to do besides just pull it. He loves the music and the "popping" block when he pulls it along. Don't want music, just turn it off; however, the "popping" still continues when pulled, but it's not too loud. The blocks go with his other toys, too! This is a great adaptation to a classic pull toy. He's enjoying pushing and pulling his little elephant.

"My Baby Loves His Elephant" 2005-12-21
By Vee (Westchester, New York)
My 12 month old baby cannot put this toy down, even when I have to change his diaper. It is the cutest thing to see him walk the elephant like it's his little pet, he doesn't even walk on his own yet so you know that I have walk with him too. He also likes to see the block jump as it moves.

The music is a little annoying but that is when I turn the music off and keep on walking.

This is a great toy for Coordination and stability.

 "Eh, OK!" 2009-08-23
By M. LeBlanc (Lakenheath, England)
This is a cute little toy and my daughter likes to play with it, but not for too long. She like to press the button to make the music so she can dance to it. The only complaint I have and what caused me to rate it 3 stars is the balls get stuck in the mouth. If you don't set the ball in the mouth just right you have to press very hard to get the ball to go down. Little babies (my 15 month old) have problems getting the ball in the mouth correctly for it to go down. I even have to give it a good push for it to go down. My daughter doesn't even try to put it in the month and just drops the ball on the spiral itself.

"Disappointing, & difficult to assemble" 2009-06-03
By S. Greene (Palo Alto, CA USA)
First off, this thing was particularly difficult to assemble, even by the standards of children's toys. The guide holes that the screws insert into don't line up properly without some good bending & twisting of the plastic. Since no one else has mentioned this, it may be that there was a manufacturing flaw in the unit we got.

As for the toy itself, I agree with others: the balls stick more often than they should, and the toy isn't as stable as it ought to be. Most importantly, our 10-month-old got bored pretty quickly.

Also it's curious that there is a "under 3" small parts warning on the product description, when the product is designed for 9 months and up.

All in all, I'd say give it a pass, there are much better things out there from Fisher-Price and others.

"Giraffe Toy is a hit" 2009-03-29
By GFW (Portland, OR)
My niece actually received this toy for her first birthday and then passed it onto my son recently. My niece loved it and was pleased that she could entertain herslef with it, but it might have been a gift best given a little earlier. My son inherited it at 9 months, which was perfect timing, as he was just starting to pull up. Although one should should stay close to babies at this stage for safety reasons, the giraffe toy was an excellent toy for him to pull up on (recommend the toy be put on carpet at this stage due to baby instability and liklihood of tipping over). There are many different activities that can be done at different stages. It can be a pull up on toy, a button pushing toy, a slide toy in conjuction with the balls, a noise maker toy and eventually a hand-eye coordination toy, although my 10 month old is not quite at that stage yet. Just because I know the ball goes in the giraffe mouth does not mean my baby has the coordination or observational skills to know that, so as long as it amuzes him, it's a wonderful toy, as long as you can stand the single song and two noise function, although that does have an off switch.

 "not a safe toy" 2009-03-02
By shauna (san diego, ca)
I bought this for my son for Christmas and although he loves pulling himself up with it, it is very unstable and will tip over with the weight of the baby. Not only that, but the head pops off!!! It is not latched on or connected to the base at all. I also can't stand that it only makes one sound. Save your money and buy the crawl and cruise musical jungle, best investment ever.

 "Dangerous!" 2008-12-11
By G. Ripoll (Guaynabo, PR United States)
I was really excited to receive this toy for my 9 month old as an early Christmas present from my cousin. She said it would aid my baby to learn how to stand. However, this can be a dangerous toy if you leave the child unattended. My baby boy tried to stand by pulling from the giraffe's ears and he felt on his back and hitting his head. The whole giraffe was on top of him. He was crying like crazy and very scared. I took the toy out of his room for the moment to see if it is more appropriate when he grows older. He doesn't seem to be interested in the toy anyway. Sometimes the balls get stuck in the mouth of the giraffe and it only plays one silly sound.

 "Doesn't get any better!!!" 2010-02-16
By Mom of 2: Wyatt , my son in Heaven & Danika, my daughter on earth. (St. Louis, MO)
We've had this travel potty for a couple months now for our 27 month old daughter. We've been using it as a potty training tool, letting her stuffed animals use this travel potty while she was sitting on the big potty (with the Primo Ducka seat, which we LOVE!).

We brought it out to the living room in her play area. She LOVES it and will sit on it for many many minutes, even going to it on her own, so I'm guessing it's pretty comfy! She likes that it is lower to the ground so she can sit on the potty and still play with her cars. She is about 36 inches tall and weighs 28 pounds, her feet rest comfortably on the floor while sitting on it. She has used it several times now without a problem.

VERY sturdy. I was concerned about only 3 legs, but it's very steady. Make sure the legs all *click* into place before using it.

EASY to set up! Easy to change the bag - Just lift up the white seat, arrange a new bag, and pop the white seat back on.

Extremely portable and lightweight in the carrying case. The case is very nice! You'd never know there was a potty in there!! Fits in the stroller basket of the large carseat stroller systems, and lightweight enough to put over the handles of an umbrella stroller. I've read other reviews stating there isn't enough space in the case for other items - I have not had that problem at all!!! I still have the original bags and pads it came with, plus I've added 4 more plastic Target bags, 4 folded paper towels, a soft pack of travel wipes, a travel bottle of hand sanitizer, and I can fit more in there, such as a pair of panties and possibly a thin pair of emergency pants. Plus, the messenger style flap has an adjustable strap/clasp.

Plastic grocery bags and a couple pieces of folded up paper towels inside work great. Haven't tested out the pads yet, but they are similar to pads used by breastfeeding women. I have also found that the "Blink Trash Tossers" trash bags for your vehicle (Walmart) fit VERY well. The opening of the trash bag is a little small/exact same size as the seat opening, but I got it to work. Plus, a lot less bulk than plastic grocery bags, so you can fit a bunch of them in the carry case.

To entice our daughter to use it, we did have to put some reusable (not regular) Dora stickers on it.

We have not used this potty out of our house yet, but I will be bringing it on a road trip from St. Louis to North Dakota. This is the first trip while potty training.

I plan to bring this potty on our weekly trips to the Zoo this summer and hope she will find it comfortable to use while out and about. I'm also very excited to be able to bring this on camping trips that we plan to take this summer!

I found this on the Kohl's website for much less expensive! It might have been on sale.

 "LOVE this potty!" 2009-09-10
By N. Park (San Jose, CA)
We put this potty in the back of our minivan and my daughter uses it wherever we go. The only drawback is that I haven't found any garbage bags that are as durable as the ones that come with the potty. After we used all of those, I bought regular Hefty 4 gallon bags and the first one leaked when my daughter peed in it, so now I put in 3 bags at a time to make sure everything stays in the bag. Otherwise, excellent potty, definitely a lifesaver on the road!

I have two little girls and this is the best thing ever invented. Its great . My kids never have to use the public toilet and I can pull over when ever they have to go on the road. When you have boys, the potty training process is a little easier as far as being able to go any place. If you have girls, you have to get this potty!!

"Was VERY happy to find one.." 2009-10-30
    By cathycolgan
I had bought an old table at a yard sale., but half of it did not work. Then one day the head quit going backand forth. My geanddaugher constantly played with it, and learned how to find her ears, nose & mouth with it. She loved it so much that I went online trying desperately to find a new one that ALL worked. She's only 14 mos. old, and this table teaches them A LOT. I spent 2 hours looking, and was SO HAPPY when I saw you all only had 2 left. While it was a bit more than what Wal Mart was advertising, Wal Mart did not have any anywhere. This table was well worth every penny I spent on it. I wish they would sell it again, kids just love all they can learn. It arrived in a timely manner and was in perfect shape. We play with it every day...thank you very much because she has many toys, but loves nothing as much as this table. I am contemplating buying the last one you have left in case I have any more grandkids...I have 5 children...again thank you and I am always happy with this site and ordering....Cathy C

My son has this and the leapfrog musical table with four legs. The four legged table is very stable, but this one can be pushed over and tipped. But my son loves it anyway. He especially loves the "cell phone" and will immediately take it out of the holder and carry it around. He thinks the elmo head shaking is funny and will grab elmo's head. This toy is at grandma's so he hasn't had the opportunity to wear it out yet.

"8 Month Old Twins Love This Toy" 2007-05-27
    By B. Fox
My B/G twins are 8 months old. This was given to us as a gift. They started playing with it as soon as they could sit. This probably one of my favorites it is very educational. They love to see Elmo's head going back and forth. The table is very easy to tip over so I put it against the couch. Elmos is a little possessed he does go off in the middle of the night (I started turning him off) probably due to the fact my kids love to hold his head from moving. It is by far my kids favorite toy.

By Rebecca E. Schmuck (Chicago, IL USA)
My parents bought this last Christmas for my baby when he way [...]. It has been a great toy. Very few items these days are battery free, which is nice for the parents. It's also great to have non electronic stimulation for the baby, which is hard to come by these days.

This table has been entertaining and educational for my baby for the last year. It is very durable and my baby has never gotten hurt with it.

It is a great toy for developmental stages. When he was very little, he liked to throw the rings and the snap together pieces. As he grew, he learned how to use the shape sorter and the ring slot. Then he practiced stacking the rings by size. Now that he is 20 months old he is losing interest in the table, although he still likes trying to snap the plastic pieces together.

All in all, this is a great table that baby can use to entertain himself, practice standing, etc, and learn various developments from age 6 months to 20 months (2 years may be pushing it).

I purchased this for my 7-month old grandaughter. She has enjoyed it immensely. The only problems I see with the toy is due to the size, it is difficult to store and ends up being part of the furniture. The other is with several smaller parts, our 1-year old puppy has absconded with several of them and thus, are now part of his toybox. With the lights and music, it is still a great buy for a smaller child.
