I bought this toy and started playing the music for my now 7 month old daughter while I was still pregnant. She was already used to the music by the time she was born, so it's been a favorite of hers from the beginning. We don't travel without it, because it helps soothe her so she can go to sleep by herself. The music is beautiful, the ocean sounds are calming, and it's so cute! I just wish I had known that it also comes in pink before I bought it.

We had the seahorse for about 6 months, from the time my daughter was 5 months till 11 months, when I sold it to a consignment shop. It was very cute and she would smile when first seeing it, but for whatever reason this toy never struck a chord with my daughter the way other reviewers have noted. If definitely never helped soothe her to sleep, either, but my daughter has hated going to sleep from day one. She simply never interacted with it, or became excited over it the way she does some of her stuffed animals, like her Blabla knitted cat, for instance. Maybe the difference is weight, this seahorse is pretty heavy compared to other infant plush toys.

My son is 14 months and has been using this since birth. We turn it on every night when we put him in his crib and also every nap. He knows that when it goes on, it is time to sleep. It creates a soft glow which gives a baby something to look at, and the music is relatively quiet and soothing. The music also doesn't last very long, but that is a good thing...just lasts long enough for him to fall asleep. I've had it over a year, and have only changed the batteries 3 times. This is a must-have for every baby.

I bought this to help by baby fall asleep by himself, when he was about 5 months old. He is very interested in it as soon as I turn it on and he'll cuddle with it and look at the lights. The music is very soothing and there are two volume setting you can choose.

Now he is almost 6 months old and it really helped him learn fall asleep by himeself. I usually turn it on, put in his arm, then leave the room. The music stopps after 5 minutes and my baby usually fall asleep either already or shortly after.

Got this when LO was 3wks old and I finally was able to get things done around the house!! LOL. It kept him quiet and content and helped with tummy time. His favorite part is the top of the play gym with the sounds and ranging colors (actually thought the butterflies would spin like a mobile which was a downer). It actually keeps him content for quiet awhile-- it was 45mins. at 1 month, and now at 2 months he makes me restart it twice.



His favorite toy (other than the top of the gym) has actually become the elephant rattle. It goes with us everywhere and it's the only toy that he show interesting in grabbing and hitting.



I'd buy this again and again. Just wish the top could actually spin. :(

My daughter wasn't able to interact much with this toy until about 4 months old, but before then she did still enjoy looking around the gym, staring at the brightly colored flashing lights, and cooing at the slightly swaying butterflies ahead. This gym is great because you can switch out the toys. My finance & I switch it up all the time, and we use every attachable toy we have on this gym. It keeps things interesting & surprising for our daughter, who is now 6 months old & enjoying this gym more then ever. She coos & "talks" to the animals & especially loves chewing on the monkey. The monkey has become such a special toy that her dad is thinking of getting it tattooed. It took our daughter Lenore awhile to discover the attachment mirror, and we knew previously that she loved mirrors, but once she has discovered it it is one of her favorites. She will stare in the mirror and smile and seemingly flirt with herself, then attack it with her slobbering mouth. Our baby gets much joy out of this gym! I do wish it were better priced. If it sold for $40 that would be great! But even still, the use & smiles & long play-times we've gotten out of this gym in the past several months, have no doubt been worth the money spent. Also the characters of this Rainforest line by Fisher Price are so cute! All the animals look very friendly & are all smiling in their faces. Quite sweet companions! We loved this gym so much that we purchased the mobile & waterfall soother in the rainforest's theme too, and if I would have known that they made a bouncer, swing & bassinet in this theme, we would have purchased those too!



Great little gym. Charming, sweet, entertaining, versatile, machine washable, easy to assemble & tuck away when not in use. However, this gym is in use, much more than it is not in use! There is not one day that goes by that our little girl doesn't enjoy spending some time with this gym. I will even set her on her belly on a blanket next to the gym & I'll turn on the lights & have the rainforest's sounds going, and it turns into a splendid tummy time activity center! We just hang some favorite toys from the attachment rings & she is thoroughly enthralled. She will roll back & forth now, but does not explore yet far from this gym.



I recommend! If you can afford this gym, I do not believe you'll be disappointed.

I bought the Fisher Price Rainforest playmat based on the reviews from others and based on how much my baby loves our other Fisher Price items - the cradle swing and papasan seat. At first, my baby would fuss when we placed her on the playmat, but now that she is older (2 months) she really loves to lay and stare at the different rainforest animals. Though the music may drive many adults nuts, the Fisher Price people have really honed in on the type of music and rhythms that babies like. It's nice that the rainforest animal components are detachable and that there is a multitude of sensory stimulation.

Once assembled and cleaned (it arrived with some fine gritty dust) I was excited to put the little guy in and see what would happen. He took to it immediately and proceeded to jump around and laugh. This can wear a baby out quick. I limit him to 10 mins a day or he quickly gets overtired and cranky (he's 5 mos). I now find him wanting to jump more even when just being held in a standing position, it's one of his favorite things.



Basically it works as advertised and it's lots of fun for any baby.

My mother bought this for my son. I think it's great. My son is 8 months old and he loved it immediately. We have yet to put it down on the floor without the legs because he likes cruising. The table is sturdy and has so much for little ones to do.



As a parent, I also appreciate the sounds and sounds vary. It's not grating on your nerves. I hope my son grows with this.

His interaction has been improved a lot since then and now it became his favorite toy.

After reading the other reveiws, I purchased this toy for my 13-month old niece and it is wonderful. She plays with it everyday, and it is light enough for her to move from room to room. She prefers the music more than the words and dances to it, and I love watching her dance. The other good thing is the recorded voice does not have that annoying tinny quality.

I have seen the other negative reviews on this toy. I read them because I could not imagine anyone saying anything bad about it! My son absolutely loves this toy. We got it for him about 6 weeks ago. Yes it is VERY LOUD (both music and fan), in fact much louder than all of his other toys. I've gotten used to it though and don't mind. At first, the loud music did seem to scare him but after a few days of hs older siblings playing with it, he seemed to get the idea and figured out how to push the plunger himself. Now he pushes it all the time. The balls do go flying (how anyone coudl say the fan isn't strong enough, I don't know) sometimes, and sometimes he chases them and sometimes I have to dig them out of places. Once again, that's ok since the whole idea is for his enjoyment and development. And it gives me a little added exercise. He has tried to stick other toys down the hole but, anticipating that he'd do this, I'm really careful about which toys I leave out for him when he's playing with this so that he's can't get anything too stuck. So most of the other toys he has have pieces too big to really fit far down the hole and I can just pull them out. I must have the newer model with the cover because we have not had any "danger" issues with him getting stuck or even trying to get his arm stuck. He is also always supervised when playing with things like this. Bottom line is my son loves it and so do I! If you want tons of fun and laughter with your baby I highly recommend this toy!

My one year old received this toy for his first birthday. He loves it! He can play with it alone, or we can play together. He could press the button to start the popping by himself afer only one or two play sessions. It has improved his manual dexterity but most of all it's just fun!

We bought this toy for my one-year old for his birthday, and he loves it. He quickly learned how to push down the red plunger to make the balls pop, and laughs hysterically when they do. He also thinks that the music is great dance music!



Caveats: This toy is not very stable; if a child tries to balance on it, or pull themselves up on it, it will immediately fall over. Luckily, it's light, but it startles the child... Also, the toy is designed to run unimpeded; the slightest interference (or sometimes none at all), and the balls don't fall neatly back into the tray to go down the runway to pop up again, they fly all over the room. Again, more hilarity for the child, and this can be viewed as a positive if you would like to get your exercise from retrieving balls... And my kid keeps trying to put the balls back down the center hole, instead of the side one where they're designed to go. Of course, he also tries to put blocks, smaller balls, and whatever else he can find down there, too...luckily, a quick upside-down shake expells all foreign objects.



All in all, I would recommend this product. My child thinks it's hilarious, and I don't usually mind retrieving the balls. Usually.

Our son enjoys this toy a lot. He chases the balls all around and often laughs and squeels. The balls do fly around quite a bit, so if you have it out on the floor, be prepared for you and your little one to chase away! Tons of fun! (but they do remain in a play pen if you use one) He has enjoyed this toy from about 8 months and up, just remember, you will have to help them chase the balls if they cannot walk yet)

The only reason I rated it 3 for durable is b/c the batteries don't last long enough,(even name brand batteries) and w/out almost fully charged batteries, sometimes the air pressure is not enough to push the balls all the way out of the top. And, sometimes, if your child cannot find a ball, (it comes with 4) then only 3 balls have a hard time getting out also. It would be great if Playskool would offer a couple extra balls in the set.

GREAT toy though! Hours of fun for sure! Just keep extra batteries handy.

Fisher-Price Rainforest Healthy Care High Chair

We selected this product for my baby registry based on the recommendation in Baby Bargains and the good reviews. It wasn't until after we received the high chair as a gift that I learned that it contained at least one toxin and possibly more. The back of the high chair is vinyl, which the Children's Health Environmental Coalition has called "the worst plastic, from both an environmental and health standpoint." According to the Center for Health, Environment and Justice, the chemicals released by a new vinyl product "have been associated with developmental damage, as well as damage to the liver, central nervous, respiratory and reproductive systems." Their study found that some chemicals have been found in the air a full 28 days after a new vinyl product is brought into the home. A commentator on the Soft Landing blog -- a resource for non-toxic eating gear -- also reports that lead is sometimes used as a stabilizer for vinyl so suggests swabbing any vinyl highchair backing with an over-the-counter lead test to see if lead is present (and if it is either recover the seat or find a different high chair). It is also not clear whether the high chair tray -- which babies often eat off of -- or any other part of the high chair contains BPA. BPA can leach into food and is a known neurotoxin that is potentially dangerous to infants. I called Fisher Price to ask whether the high chair contains BPA and phthalates (which is a hormone disrupter) and was told they could not release information on the contents of the high chair but that it complied with federal safety regulations. Alicia Voorhies, a retired nurse specializing in developmental disabilities who runs the Soft Landing blog, suggests not allowing a baby chew on any part of the highchair, since Fisher Price won't share what materials are used or where they're located in the product. As a parent of a 5 month old, I know how hard it is to prevent my son from chewing on anything, particularly toys like the ones that come with this high chair. It also makes me suspicious that Fisher Price won't release any product information when there is so much concern recently about BPA in infant feeding products. I highly advise that other parents do not make the same mistake we did in selecting this product for our registry - this is a product that your child will use daily to eat and will sit in your kitchen, and it seems important that it be as non-toxic as possible. Go with Graco, Stokke, Peg Perego, or Svan high chairs, all of which appear to have trays that are BPA-free and chairs without vinyl backings and are made by companies that will disclose product information so that parents can make informed decisions. Fisher-Price Rainforest Open-Top Cradle Swing

I got this for the new baby that's due in about 3 more months. I put my 15 month in it to try it out and she didn't like it, but then again she never liked swings. I just wanted to see if it would go ok and everything. It worked great and she weighs about 23 pounds. I put it on every setting and they all worked well. The only thing I didn't like, was that the motor was a little loud till the swing really got going. I fixed that by giving it a little push to get it moving faster. The colors are great for our new little girl. We'll be trying for a little boy in another 2 years or so, so I should've gotten a neutral color, but oh well.
