"Kept Baby amused for months!" 2008-09-18
By M. Krasteva (Cambridge, MA)
We had this toy since my daughter was 2-3 months old. First we suspended it from the center of her play gym - no other toy was as interesting. The giggles and short tunes that emanate from the toy are uplifting to baby and parents alike. Once my daughter started crawling and ignored the play gym we transfered the toy to her crib. To this day, at 13 months she still tugs on it. The only downsides are that the toy is a little heavy, the ties are short, and the tunes run for just a few seconds. Other than that the toy is very nice.

By Luz (New Orleans, La)
I purchased the Miracles and Milestones Panda for my 4 month old baby for car rides and she loves it! It really distracts her and calms her down! I only wish the music played for longer so I don't have to continue to pull the string! But it is well worth it!

"Great toy, but a few flaws" 2006-12-12
By musicalsguru (Minneapolis, MN United States)
My 5mo old son loves this toy. The flashing light on the ladybug can really keep him entranced. The music is nice and it alternates between a giggle and then one of 3 songs (Bear Went over the Mountain, Teddy Bear Picnic, and one other). My only complaints are the fact that they have to pull the green toy, which is harder to grip than the spinning ball, and that it is kind of long, so it's hard to hang on the crib, and still be able to pull the toys.

It's a great toy, with just a few flaws, but easily one of my son's favorites:)

Our 12 month old received this as one of his Christmas gifts from Grandpa. He really likes it. He uses his fingers to push the buttons, rather than the "hammer". It's funny watching his face when the turtle pops out of his shell. What a great little toy for the price.

We have had this monitor for 4 years and it just now stopped working. We have used it 24/7 for all 4 years in both a one story and two story house. The night light is not too bright which is really nice. We never experienced any problems with feedback or picking up any odd sounds. We will be buying a replacement one in the next few weeks for baby #3.

By Billy Pilgrim (Atlanta, GA USA)
The static on this unit is horrible and virtually every night, for no reason at all, the power cord becomes disconnected from the monitor unit and it goes off. I have to push it back in multiple times to get it to work. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy another product. If I could give it zero stars, I would. When it comes time to retire this, I plan to take a hammer to it. Do NOT buy this product.

"This monitor is a piece of junk" 2009-03-18
By S. Sagona (Louisiana)
When I was pregnant the first time, not knowing anything about baby monitors, I put this one on my registry. I wish I hadn't. A very lovely friend purchased it for me and I appreciate her generosity, but man, this thing is a piece of garbage.

The static that comes through is horrible at first and having been using it for the past two years, it's only gotten worse. I find it hard to get to sleep at night over the constant static it emits. Worse than that, is the Spanish-speaking radio station I tend to pick up on a clear night. Hey, I like Mariachi as much as the next person, not so much on my baby monitor.

Next complaint is the volume dial. You have to turn it up past the second setting to even get sound out of the receiver. The first time I used it, I didn't know this and there's no telling how long my baby cried before I knew what was happening. I still feel guilty about that. Secondly, when you turn the monitor off, there's a loud crackling noise that tends to be loud enough to wake anyone else in the room that might have managed to get to sleep over the static and "La Cucaracha".

Now that our second child is due to arrive, I'm throwing this thing out and getting something better. I can't deal with another two years of static and late night jam sessions.

"What age is it good for?" 2010-02-01

In the product description, I don't see what baby age this swing is appropriate for. How much weight does it support? How tall can the baby be to fit? One star.

"Excellent Concept, Not Well Built" 2009-10-27
By Mary229 (Wisconsin)
I bought this swing because of the plug-in feature. I will say that the swing has durability. It has lasted me through two children now. And I do like the music that it plays as well as the two different levels of volume for the music. But it has some flaws.

#1 It does not recline very far, so it's not great for a very young child who is unable sit up well yet.

#2 There is not a noticeable difference in the 6 speeds.

#3 How well it swings definitely depends on the weight of the child. For an 8 lb. baby who can't sit up well, it seems to go too fast. But the motor can't seem to handle a 17 lb. baby who does want to swing faster. Then it goes slow or stops. It says that the weight limit is 25 lbs., but I really don't think it can handle more than 20 lbs. maximum.

#4 The music seems to start out soft but gradually get louder.

In spite of the aforementioned flaws though, both of my children have loved this swing! All-in-all it was well worth the $80 price tag. I'm just disappointed that my 6 month old daughter is outgrowing it already.

"Great swing...if you WANT your baby to get a head injury" 2009-05-08
By Tracy Quigley Bailif
I bought this for my son when he was about a month old. When he reached about 15 pounds, the swing kept stopping swinging...I returned twice and

both replacements had the same problem. I used it anyway, even though it would often stop swinging, and when my son was old enough to move his head and lean over, his head banged on the metal railing holding the swing. I called Fisher Price and I am shocked to see that they have not recalled this product, it is downright dangerous!

 "Sanity-Saver" 2009-03-14
By A. Dayley (All Over, USA)
I received this swing as a gift after my son was born. It took him a month or two to get interested, but around the same time his colic and acid reflux kicked in, this became our life-saver. I am soooo grateful my friend thought to get me a plug-in swing as opposed to battery-operated because we would have dropped TONS of money replacing the batteries on this thing for how much we used it.

I'll admit it, there were some nights this was the ONLY way my son would stay asleep. I would lay on the couch to be near him and make sure he was safe, but some nights there was no other way we would have gotten any sleep at all.

My complaints about the swing are few:

-I wish it reclined more. He slept in it a lot, anyway, but I would have felt better about it if it had leaned back more.

-The mobile is incredibly dull. He still liked the swing once we got through colic, but would get bored quickly and I think it would have freed me up a little more if there had been more interesting things to look at.

Other than that, we rarely had a problem with the swing stopping itself because something hung down, we just made sure to tuck blankets in tight around him. I liked the colors; the swing sat in our living room so the muted colors were far preferable to the bright stuff of other baby products. The music was fine, we were never bothered by it, and I don't think he really cared one way or the other. The speeds don't vary a LOT, but I'm positive my baby didn't care at all, swinging is swinging, right? We didn't have a high chair when we first started him on solids, so we used the swing at feeding time and it worked great. We got tons of use out of this for a good six months.

I have used my sister-in-law's baby swing before, a papasan that can swing side to side, but my son didn't seem to care one way or the other which way he swung. This swing is a good price, it saves you money in the long run, and it gets the job done. I would happily use it again, although I wish this same concept came in more styles. It would be nice if it reclined more.

The songs are nice. I'm glad there is volume control. And I am over the moon that it doesn't require batteries! I've used it with two babies now, and it was a winner with both. Just wish it has more attractive to the adult eye. But the kids seemed fine with it.

"Cute toy but very dissapointed" 2010-02-17
By S. Cheeseman (Houston, TX)
I do not actually own this toy. A friend of mine let us borrow it for a LONG road trip. This is a very cute toy, but I wouldnt waste my $$ on it. It is very very difficult to activate. I could barely do it, let alone my 11 month old. You are supposed to press the nose to activate. I had to mash it very hard to get it to play. Once it does come on, its fun and it vibrates and my daughter loved it. The only problem is it only seemed to last for about 5 seconds. It wasnt worth the fight to turn it on for such a short time. My daughter ended up using the ears as a teether and thats about it.

 "Too hard to activate" 2008-09-17
By Stephanie Frederic (Baton Rouge, LA United States)
Cute toy--it wiggles and makes noise when you squeeze the nose. The problem is it is very difficult for an adult (much less a baby or toddler) to squeeze it. The moving/music doesn't last very long, so pretty soon you'll be tired of hurting your fingers on it.

 "Too hard for babies!" 2007-12-12
By Heather L. Moore (Michigan)
I agree with the previous reviewers. We got this toy last Christmas, when my daughter was 5 months old. It definitely entertains her, if we sit & continuously push the button. There is no way that she could push it herself, even at 16 months old - it's sometimes hard for me to push. And the song is way too short. The only time she plays with it is when we do it for her.

Customer Buzz
 "Not very baby/toddler friendly" 2007-12-06
By Jessica Carstensen (Central FL)
Like the othe reviews have said... the activation switch is hard to press making it impossible for baby to do (my daughter tries over and over to her disappointment). Additionally, once activated the vibration and music only last a few second then it is back to fighting with the switch. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money!

My 7 month old son loves this thing... for about 8 seconds! That's the longest it vibrates for and once it is done, he seems to loose interest. It would be a lot better if it ran for a longer time when the button is pushed.

 "Cute!" 2007-03-03
By Kate (South-western Pennsylvania)
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas, she was 8 months old and really liked it, her favorite being the little penguin that squeaks. She now (11 months) loves the big polar bear the most. We never had any issues with the pieces fitting in the carrier, it has always latched and stayed latched. Also our penguin sqeaks with very little effort. One of my favorite parts of this little set is that the growl of the larger polar bear is a series of different growls it makes, the fact that it's not an actual bear growling and more like a person cracks my daughter up. The only downfall I've seen at all is the painting of the penguin, and painted features of the other animals is that my daughter has all her front teeth and has just shredded the paint. She's had teeth since 4 months, I know some kids don't get them until later but seeing as this toy is recommended for 6-36 months or so and a majority of the children recieving this may or will shortly have teeth I think they should have tested it out a little better and gone with solid colored plastics instead of a quick paint job. All and all this is not a very expensive toy and I think well worth the money!

Customer Buzz
"Cute, but shy on details" 2007-01-26
By K. J. Hoffman (Chaska, MN USA)
We received this item as a gift for my one-year-old daughter, and thought it would be a real hit. She liked pressing on the polar bear's head to hear it roar. Her brothers [...] liked it too.

But once we got it home and really tested it out, some design flaws came to the fore.

1) The term "tote-along" is completely false. The doors of the tote close, but do not hold. The four pieces (roaring bear, squeaking penguin, clicking bear, and rattling block of fish-caught-in-ice) do not fit inside the plastic "cave." This means that every time I try to pick it up, hard plastic animals come crashing out of it and inevitably drop on my toes.

2) The mechanics of the smaller pieces are too tight. Even my older boys, who are very hard on toys, cannot whack the penguin hard enough to make it squeak. They can work the clicking head on the small bear, but the baby cannot, so she gets bored with it quickly.

3) This is more of a pet peeve, but the bear sound is not a real bear. It's a man saying "roar!" Admittedly, I think this bothers me more than the kids.

On the plus side, the faces on the animals are very cute, and the toy seems sturdy. The hinges on the tote doors contain metal pins and the handle is screwed in. If you appreciate the visual appeal, it might still be worth the money - but don't bank on easy transport.
