"Better toy than I first thought." 2010-01-01
By Benjamin B. Edelen
My eight month old son got this toy for Christmas, and of course it was only one of many. Upon first impressions, I thought it was a cute ball and the sound effects are pretty funny. Then I started rolling it around and he had zero interest in it. Well, a week later and this ball is by far my son's favorite toy! He is trying to crawl and this ball is giving him a reason to get across the floor. He rolls from side to side, past other toys, to get to this one. That says a lot!! Overall, it's a fun toy and the monkey sound effects are great. Definitely worth the price.

By Ashley McCoy (AL USA)
My sister bought this toy for my son this past week and he loves it! He smiles so big whenever he hits it and sees the monkey wobbling all over the place and making noises! Also he loves balls so he enjoys crawling around after it and hitting it all around. So cute and reasonable price!

 "Baby bored easily" 2009-07-05
By R C (Colorado)
For the price there's better toys out there that will keep your baby's attention for longer. It makes two annoying laughing noises/songs, and after a couple whacks my baby ignores it. Also I have carpet and it doesn't really roll at all so maybe if I had hard floors the baby would be entertained by it better.

 "fun but...." 2009-04-16
By It's Play Time! (NY,USA)
My daughter does seem to enjoy this toy. She mostly just bats it knowing it will just bounce back up, bored quickly by it. The sounds can be very irritating to me. A nice song about rolling around would have been nice but it just laughs weird. Enjoyable enough for the price I suppose.

 "How fun!" 2008-12-26
By BurleysGirl (CA United States)
My 6 month old son got this for Christmas, and so far it's his favorite toy! It is encouraging him to sit up (something he hasn't quite mastered yet) and he loves to move the monkey from side to side to make the sounds and music. For now we're just sitting it between his legs to encourage sitting and hand-eye coordination, but I can already picture him pushing it around the living room!

"worth the money... great product" 2010-01-25
By Jessie Leung (Queens, NY)
Someone got this for us from our baby registry. It was great. We had it for our son as a new born and he enjoyed it very much. Now he's 16 months and still enjoying it. Now that he's 16 months we use it as a lamp by the bedside.

I love this product because the mobile spins. It has about 4 to 5 songs. The fishes are colorful and adorable and rotates. The lightshow has stars and fishes and they spin. You can turn the music on or off to go with the lightshow, or you can turn on the lamp with/out lightshow and with/out music, or just music, or lightshow and the lamp only. So many options! You can also adjust the volume. And you can select which songs you want to play.

Great product!

 "Adorable and fun mobile!" 2009-10-05
By The Rock Church (Saco, ME United States)
We just bought this mobile for our first baby due in January. We are doing an "under the sea" theme and this fits in perfectly.

Things I LOVE:

1. The fish are very colorful and adorable.

2. The light show above is spectacular. You can really make out the fish - they look they are swimming in a circle. It's bright, but not too bright to keep baby awake.

3. Seems very durable.

Not so great:

1. Truly does not fit on convertable cribs. We used two nylon cable ties from Home depot to attach it to the crib. It's very sturdy - doesn't budge and the lines hold up to 175 lbs so it's not going anywhere. Would be nice if it came with an adjustable base.

[...]

2. A bit pricey, though I would pay more for it because I love it SO much!

"Doesn't fit on convertible cribs" 2009-08-31
By Raquel Dixon (WI, USA)
This mobile does everything except wash the dishes, yet it's crib attachment does not fit convertible crib rails. My husband is still trying to figure a way out to 'tie it on' so that it is secure since our daughter loves it. Also, I wish the fish were more on an angle, say horizontal, not so vertical that she can see them more when she ends up squirming herself directly underneath it. Then all she really sees are their bellies and the night light. Overall it's just a mobile that she'll use until she's seven months old at the most so I guess I can't complain.

"Buy something better with less plastic!" 2009-08-11
By MB Majors (Santa Monica, CA)
I just spent an hour tearing this mobile apart so I could fit it back in the box. It is indeed designed so that once you put it together, you can almost not remove the arm from the mobile device so that you have to keep it. But they didn't fool me! It does not sound great, but mostly I'm disappointed with the way it connects to the crib. It is quite heavy and feels like an unwieldy piece to mount above your baby's head. Should have done some research ahead of time. I'm now considering the black/white/color no music Infant Stim Mobile -- no electronic bells and whistles...

"Fischer Price Ocean Wonders Projection Mobile boohoo" 2009-04-18
By D. Shapiro (Brooklyn NY)
Read such nice reviews I bought it for my granddaughter. The motor mount would not fit over the crib rail. The projection light was almost non existent. VERY DISSAPPOINTING!![[ASIN:B0007GDOF0 Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Mobile with Remote Control] In trying to repack the item for return, we couldn't take apart the arms without fear of their breaking. Called the vendor who said he would take it back and refund my money. His warehouse is in Brooklyn, where I live. He gave me the warehouse number to call when I was ready to bring the item to him. When I called, I got a nasty response, claiming there was no such person as the person I spoke to, then a quick hangup. I immediately called again and the phone was turned to fax. I wrote the vendor an email, threatening to call the Better Business Bureau and Amazon Marketplace. No response! I emailed AGAIN berating the irresponsibility of the vendor's not returning an email or phone call or honoring his agreement to take the item back and refund my money. At last I got a phone call from the person I originally spoke to. He knew nothing of my calls to the warehouse. He could not understand the response I got. He gave me his cell phone number and told me to call when I was ready to return the item. I set up a tentative date of May 27 or 28. We shall see. If it turns out okay, then great. If not I will then name the vendor.

 "Great entertainment" 2009-11-23
By N. Warren (New Orleans)
I originally purchased this toy for an active little 15 month old grandson. He loved it, threw it, jumped on it, drooled on it, pushed and pulled it and really played hard with it. He's now 3 and his baby brother, 10 months, is repeating all of the same activities. This toy and all the pieces still look brand new and both boys play with it still, each on a different level. It's still in such good shape, I might donate it, when the boys are through with it, to a child care center.

I was really excited to get the Fisher-Price Amazing animals sing and go choo choo for my grandson. Now that he is old enough to enjoy it, I find out it doesn't move or play the songs. I bought it new from amazon but kept it for a gift. I am disappointed considering how well its rated and the cost.

"Another plastic noise maker with no purpose" 2009-10-19
By Guy A. Blissett (New York, NY USA)
To be fair this toy has proved durable... and the animals that come with the train are posable, rugged and nicely designed... but the train is too loud with a very limited selection of annoying electronica music/singing. Not sure what kids could possibly learn from this toy. It looks "cute" and seems like a good idea... but has limited play potential... I'd suggest just buying some animals and a wood train and playing with those... the electronics don't add anything. Very typical of Fisher Price toys these days... all plastic with lots of pointless and annoying electronica music/singing and almost no educational element. Save your money and buy something quality elsewhere

"Fun for toddlers, but not much educational value" 2009-07-23
By Gadgester (Mother Earth)
This classic toy from Fisher-Price will likely delight kids 7 or 8 months and older. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my first-born when he was 7 months old and he got hooked on it right from the beginning. It moves and it sings. The "come aboard the anmial train" song can get tiresome to an adult quickly, but apparently kids don't mind, which is good. There're actually not many ways to play this toy, and it has very limited to no educational value, but I have to admit it's a fun toy for babies and toddlers.

 "18 month old son's favorite toy!" 2009-12-09
By City Mom (Chicago, IL United States)
We bought this for my son's 1 year birthday, and he loved it since he first got it. He plays with it everyday, and he is now 18 months old. The way that the cars hook together and the way the tow truck pulls the other cars along is his favorite part. He got frustrated for about 3 days while trying to hook them together, but he quickly learned to do it himself, and he now tries to toy every car he has. The animals don't add that much for him, neither does the radio. He loves loading them up on the big car carrier, and the goofy things the truck says make him laugh. It is a great toy, you can play together, or it is fun enough for him to play by himself for quite awhile. Great bargain! My batteries have not worn out in 6 months.

 "Was a big hit" 2009-11-16
By K. Lemay (Springfield, MA)
I bought this with my 18 month old Grandson in mind, and he loves it. He has a little trouble getting the top shelf of the car carrier on right but I'm sure he will get it eventually. My other Grandson's ages 3 and 4 also like it, so it's appropriate for a wide range of ages. Glad I bought it.

 "Fun car toy" 2009-11-15
By B. Melton
My two year old loves cars, and that's an understatement! So when I saw this last year, I thought it would be perfect for him. He likes it, but not nearly as much as I'd hoped. He didn't really play with it much until about 18 months, so I'd say 12 months may be a bit young, and it is still a little tricky. The blue platform on top where the cars go can be really tricky for a little kid to get seated properly as it has to fit in a slit to sit flat. He flips it over and has trouble not getting it stuck. The buttons on the side are a lot of fun and go over colors and numbers. The walkie talkie doesn't do anything, which was a little disappointing. The truck can tell if it's there or not and will wonder "where is the radio?" but the radio doesn't make any noise or contribute much. It's pretty impressive that the truck can figure out which car has rolled into the lower platform and which animal is driving. It will ask you to pick a certain animal (bird, frog, or skunk) to drive, which adds an extra teaching element. It does seem to go through batteries pretty quickly, so I do recommend that you turn it off when not in use. It is fun though, especially for a car-loving kid!

"I can attest... the BEST!!!" 2010-01-17
By J. Pierce (St. Louis, MO)
I adore these space saver chairs!!! They take up so much less space than the big clunky traditional high chairs. I didn't discover them until my first child was about a year-and-a-half old but WOW - they're the BEST!!! I used them from birth with my second child. I hooked one on a chair next to the door leading out to the garage (I called it the 'holding area' where I would put my baby daughter while I got my son's shoes on and got him in his carseat. Then I'd get her out the door. Then when we got home from places, I'd place her back in the holding area while I unloaded my son and any groceries, etc. That same place also happened to be in the kitchen, so she'd sit there with toys while I'd make dinner.

Then I had another one in the breakfast room where we eat all of our meals (since it's a separate room from the kitchen). I could use it from birth since it reclines and has a nice secure harness.

I'm expecting my third child and will re-institute my 'holding area' and my breakfast room chairs! LOL!

"Cute idea, but kind of boring" 2009-10-29
By Blair Johnson (Los Angeles, CA USA)
This toy is really cute, but failed to live up to expectations.

I find the songs catchy and enjoy them, and my son loves it when I sing along for him. He pulls this off of his shelf and plays with it for a couple of minutes, but he doesn't want to play with it very often and I don't think he'll still be interested in it six months from now.

 "Parent/Baby Time Toy" 2009-09-30
By LT (Boston, MA)
I actually agree with both previous reviewers. Both were accurate in their assessment of the toy. But with that said, I believe this toy is great for play with parent and child. It's true that it takes too much force to pull, pound or slide anything on this toy for a child. But with a parent helping I think it's lots of fun. I myself, don't think I have every been able to hit the nails with the hammer and get anything out of them. Instead I just press them and have my son do it as well. Bottom line, if you are looking for a "play alone" toy, this isn't it. If you are looking for a "let's play together" toy, this is worth the money.

 "Growing with our child" 2008-12-03
By Jayme Mccoy (salem,nh)
Our son has actually had this toy since age three months. It fascinated him in the store and we used to press it to keep his attention on the changing table. Through many stages, he can finally actually use it at 11 months as it was intended (though his hammer is his favorite). He has slammed it on the floor, and done endless things to make me conclude this toy is invinsible. I would suggest buying it for a younger child who can grow into it. I wouldn't necessarily find it that stimulating for a three year old.

"My kid likes it. I don't really like it." 2008-10-04
By Brady'sMommy
This thing has the most annoying voice ever. I don't mind noise one bit from my child and his toys but this lady on here ... I want to ring her neck. Very nasal and high pitched and such an over actor! AAAACK!

Educational... it's okay. It taught my baby cause and effect. The lights send him in to a fit though. After about 10 minutes of play I have to take it away cause he starts crying.

I love the optional modes, one is learning mode, the other is music mode. I love the songs side. The hammer has a tiny rattle in it that stimulates the ears so my infant bangs everything with it now.

We could really have done without this toy. We received it as a gift so it wasn't a waste for us. When the batteries die, I will not be replacing them.
